REVISION COMPARISON

So, there was this assignment for creative writing class where I had to write a piece based on a song, and of course, I decided to turn it into a low-key Crew (RageGaming, GenerationHollow, CaptainFluke, etc.) fanfiction. I also based it off of the song I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me by Fall Out Boy. (However, the first draft was originally based off of Ignorance by Paramore. I changed it by the second revision.)

I thought it would be fun to post the first version I had of it and the final revision I had just to compare the two!

Note: Aiden is based on Aaron (Hollow) and Jacob is based off of Josh (Rage). I use their names a lot so I changed them to avoid suspicion that it was fanfiction.

Note for Twitter people: Yep, this is the unintentionally Rollow-fueling piece.

(The first draft was based off of an AU I'm working on, but that didn't stand on it's own so I changed the main topic)

FIRST VERSION

I Won't Will Grow Up (A/N: the "Won't" in the title is supposed to be crossed out)

"Aiden!"

Aiden woke with a start. He knew that voice. He hadn't heard it in about two years, but he knew it nonetheless.

There he was, hands clasped on to the windowsill for dear life.

"Wha-Jacob?" Aiden asked, getting up. "What are you-no, how did you get here? I know your dad isn't here for a meeting."

"Ran." Jacob said.

"From three kingdoms over?"

"For God's sake, can you please help me up before I fall to my death?"

Aiden went over to the window, grabbing his friend's hand and pulling him into the room.
Well, he assumed it was still right to call Jacob a friend, even if he wasn't fully sure if that's what they were anymore. He found it strange, in a way. If someone had asked Aiden who his best friend was at age seven, he would have said Jacob with zero hesitation.

But now? He wouldn't know what to say.

"How'd you even get up here?"

Jacob grinned a little, the same mischievous grin that Aiden had come to understand meant he did something very bad, very stupid, very childish, or sometimes, all three.

"Never underestimate the power of ninja skills, Aiden."

Aiden resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Okay, whatever."

Jacob's grin faltered. "You never respect the ninja skills anymore."

"Because I, unlike you, grew up. Now, can you please explain what you're doing running here from three kingdoms over in the middle of the night?"

"It's my dad, Aiden. And before you say anything," He said, seeing Aiden opening his mouth to say something, "It's not one of my 'childish rebellion attempts', as you call them. It's really bad."

Aiden could tell by the look on Jacob's face. Jacob never got serious, never. Hell, he barely knew the definition of serious. If Jacob was this freaked out by something, it had to be bad. "What happened?"
"You know that door he never let either of us go through?"

Of course Aiden knew that door. Jacob had been trying to get through it since they were five, but the door itself was heavily guarded. Aiden had used to help, but he didn't anymore. "Don't tell me you managed to get through."
