But the snow always melts in the sun's warm light,
Unlike my heart, hidden well out of sight.
My heart, so cold to maddened desire,
What once was a flame and always a fire
Is now fading with fright.
Afraid love will never come,
Love and all its delights,
Love, which chases shadows away,
Cannot - for now - keep my demons at bay.
Because I am afraid. Afraid.
Afraid to love again,
Afraid to fall so hard.
Afraid to carry on.
Afraid to show my scars.
But, don't get me wrong,
I still believe in love.
Pure, true love.
But I don't believe
It was made
For someone
Like
Me.
