Helen's POV

I wake up with the feeling of dirt and rocks digging into my back. I open my eyes, and everything is heightened. The brightness of the sunlight bounces off the bright green leaves, but a shadow blocks everything. A hand waves in front of my face and panicky mumbles are being yelled. Two more bodies are straining to carry a body away in my peripheral vision.

A body? The colors that I once loved make everything much more gory and real. I realize that Minho is the one waving his hand in front of me. I wince at my calf which burns. In relief, Minho smiles as I give him a small one in return. The side of my vision is blurry, so I can only focus on one thing at a time. I groan as aching from my whole body explodes. I feel Minho's gaze holding mine whom is also helping me up.

What happened? Where am I?

I feel my arm being resisted by an unknown object. I cough a little, but I can feel my hearing coming back. I am stopped by Minho's stern gaze on mine, and his calloused hands on my face hold me from looking back. I woozily use my free hand to hold his hand back so I can look. I feel my whole world crashing down as I study the cold temperature traveling up my arm from my hands. I let out a strangled gasp as I try to tear my face away from the sight of a pale lifeless body of my friend. Our painted red hands are joined just like I remember. I try to pull back, but his frozen hand is locked in mine.

I can't keep myself up anymore. My legs turn into jello and my strength diminishes in one second. My brain processes as much as it can, but the only thing I can see is Chase's pale body and dried blood from his wound all over the ground and his clothes. I bring my hand up to my face and whine as I trace the painted blood of another's from my own. I feel Minho's warm body detach from mine. He's in the same clothes as he was from last night, but sweat and blood marks are seen. My hand is released, and a couple cracks are clearly heard from Chase's direction. I close my eyes when I feel myself being lifted and carried away. I can't stop my eye lids from opening a little.

I bite my lip when I see the ground splattered with deep red blood, and a body still laying on the ground. There's just enough detail to know that it's Liam. The tendons from his shoulder is ripped creating a dried pool of blood around him. His pearly white face stands out in the lively woods, and the open wound looking not normal in a once healthy body.

By the time I can smell the striking odor in my nostrils, I feel myself going into shock. I can barely hear anyone's voice. It's like someone turned down my vision and my hearing. Everything is blurry - fuzzy, muted. A lens on a camera zooming in and out and never stopping.

I lay limply on the Medshack's cot where many other patients have sat and died on. The thought of it doesn't affect me, but the searing pain traveling up my leg and battling the warm electricity coming from my cold hands do. I try to focus on the comforting words from the person holding my hands, and the familiarity of his voice. The poking of the sharp object sewing my calf stops, making me relax.

I let the warmth of what I think is Minho's hand guide me into the white darkness.

I blink a couple of times as I inspect my surroundings. Am I dead? I couldn't stop that one question from flowing through my head. I cross that off the list when the blurry figures around me condense into clear cut details. This time I'm in a dream - or memory - and I'm seeing through someone's view. I immediately know it's me when I see the reflection off of a long hunting knife in my hands. I'm carving out a name, it looks like, on the bottom of the handle. I narrow my eyes in suspicion. So far it had, TRA. I thoughtfully click my tongue, but focus back on what's happening.
