Chapter 2

Nanlaki ang mata ko pagtingin ko sa kanya. Shit!Imposible!If this is a dream then this would be the best dream I've ever had in my entire life and I don't ever want to wake up.

He was wearing his black hoodie and his infamous frown. He placed his index finger on his lips which means I should be silent.

"M-Maze?" bulong ko.

"Damn, how'd you know my name? Kasama ka ba nila?"pangalit niyang sabi sa akin. I really can'tt believe it. Nasa unahan ko si Maze Magnus Salonte ng Maze Assasin at di ko alam kung gawa-gawa lang to ng isipan ko. Have I gone insane?

"Ah..I-I" pautal kong sagot. I can't find the right words to say. He was everything I expected him to be just as he was described in the book.

"Answer me woman! Kasama ka ba nila?" sabi niya while harshly pinning my shoulders on the wall. "Tell me, are you one of Rifle's spies?"

I was breathing heavily knowing his face was at least 4 inches from mine.It sent shivers down my spine. I could feel his breath and it makes me go insane even more. Ganito pala ang pakiramdam na malapit ka sa taong dati pinapangarap mo lang. Nevertheless I know I should be making an alibi right now before he consider me as an enemy.

"I said are you one of them" sabi niya habangg kunot-noong tinititigan ako. Goodness!

Knowing Maze, anything getting on his way will be his enemy and I have no plans of having my only love hating on me.

"N-No, but-"

"But what?! Sumagot ka!"linchak atat nga pala 'to.

"But I'm here to tell you something" at last may nasabi na akong ng diretso.

"What is it?!" halos pasigaw niyang sabi sa akin.

Hinanap ko agad ang libro ko. Dang! Pano kung impersonator lang 'to? Pero imposible! The guy illustrated on the cover was him. Like he was brought to life by some book goddess or something.

"Woman, I have no time for games. Say what you have to say nang makaalis na ako. I bet the authorities are out to catch me again-"

"What did you do this time?" bigla kong tanong. I know he gets into trouble and such just as he does in the book but couldn't help but ask.

"Rifle's goons followed and attacked me. They gave me no choice" casual niyang sagot. "Wait, why am I telling this. And what do you mean by 'this time'? Have we met or something?"

" We haven't but I know who you are" sabi ko sabay lahad sa kanya ng libro.

"Why do you have a photo of me? Are you some sort of investigator?!"

"Ano?Hindi! I'm not an investigator. I'm one of your story's avid reader!" paliwanag ko sa kanya.

"An assassin has a fan? You can't be serious. How do you know me anyway" he's frustration is written all over his face, making him frown once more. I can't help but smile. I feel like my knees are melting. Damn! Ang hot niya!

"Why the heck are you smiling? Sabi ko bakit kilala mo ako?"pagalit niya nanamang sabi. Muntik k ng makalimutan, hot-headed nga pala 'tong baby ko. Umiiral nanaman ang kalandian ko.

"I already told you. Reader ako ng book mo. I showed you the book a'right. Maniwala ka sa akin" pagkumbinsi ko sa kanya

I want to slap and pinch myself. Is this some sort of dream?

"Sorry woman, I'm not that easy to deceive. Huwag ako, iba na lang" maangas niyang sabi.

"Stop calling me woman would you. It's so impolite"

"Which do you prefer? Woman o manang? Tss."

Now I'm doubting myself. Si Maze ba talaga 'to? Yes, give na antipatiko siya pero he's not like this when it comes to Cleopatra. Siguro nagbago siya nung nawala ito.

"I have a name mister. It's Calliah Cruz. Not woman nor manang"sabi ko habang nililibot niya ang kwarto ko.

"Is this you?"sabi niya habang nakatingin sa kindergarten diploma ko "Calliah Chrysanthe N. Cruz" sambit niya with a very mysterious tone

"Sigurado ka bang ikaw 'to?Not a twin or something?"

"Oo, bakit?"kunot noo kong sagot. Bakit hindi siya maniwalang ako yun? Can't he see the resemblance?

"Sana 'di ka na lang lumaki" nakangisi niyang sabi. It's official, this guy is getting too my nerves. Ang kilala kong Maze ay maangas at astig. Hindi naman nasabi queenx na mapang-asar ang isang ito.

"Aside from the 'book' that you're saying. Paano mo ko nakilala?"

"I told you, doon kita nakilala. You're one of queen-"

"Kung kilala mo ko then what do you know about Rifle? Did that author said where he could be? Kung saan ang kuta niya?"

Pilit kong inalala ang mga detalya ng libro. Queenx never really said the exact location but...

"I don't know the exact place but there's a part of the book that says 'under the bridge, beneath the moon, the enemy reigns with his allies and goons'"

Napakamot siya sa ulo niya na para bang na guguluhan and let out a deep and heavy sigh.

"I must go then. I have to find answers"sabi niya sabay akmang aalis

Nataranta ako bigla. No! He can't leave. I can't let him.

"No please don't...." sabi ko ng may mahinang boses. Medyo nabasag ang boses ko sa kaba.

"Huwag, parang di ko kakayanin" sabi ko at napahinto siya.
