Your POV

We followed the soldiers back into the fire village, but lost sight of them shortly thereafter. We walked around in search of them when we suddenly heard a loud crash nearby. We ran to the source, to see something most horrific. There was an officer standing above the old village chief, whom of which seemed to be apologizing for some reason, and a large group of soldiers standing behind him.

"You can't pay, you say?" The officer spoke calmly and coldly to the chief. "You want to go without paying them again?"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" The chief cried as he trembled on the ground. "But the rice crops this year didn't produce much, and we hardly have enough to feed ourselves. Taxes on top of that are..." The man was cut off by the officer stomping on his head and saying,

"Hold your tongue! If you can't pay, sell your children off!" Yoon and I watched in horror, our eyes wide with shock. Yona and the other watched with completely different expressions. Anger and murderous intent covered their faces. Their auras were dark and deadly.

"N-no, I couldn't!" The cheif protested. Kija and Yona were ready for battle, stunning Yoon and me. As the Yoon attempted to tell Yona and Kija to calm down, we heard a soldier speak up.

"Master Dol-bal," he announced. "There's food over here."

"See?" Dol-bal spoke up. "You had some, didn't you? It looks like you don't have rice, but this will do, right? Carry it out." The chief attempted to protest, but couldn't. That's the food Yoon brought yesterday. I thought as I watched in shock as they started to take it away. Yoon balled his hands into a fist. I could tell he was just as upset as I was, if not more. He wanted to fight them, but he knew he couldn't. I put my hand on his catching his attention. He looked down at ,e with wide, angry eyes. I stared at him with knit brows and sad eyes. His tense figure relaxed slightly as he looked down at the ground. But in seconds he was tense yet again.

"No!" A small, childish voice spoke up. Yoon and I stared at each with wide eyes, our hearts pounding. "Yoon and his friends brought those for us!" We looked over and saw a small girl trying in vain to stop the soldier.

"Move," the soldier ordered. "You're in the way." The child still attempted to stop the man, causing Yoon and me to mumble the word "no" in fear and shock, our eyes wide saucers and pupils small like the dot of a pen.

"This is just the right amount, isn't it?" Dol-bal spoke. "Let's take the child, too." No... My hand covered my mouth in horror as my eyes began to sting with tears. "Let's sell the child to make up for the insufficient tax." NO! I wanted to grab the girl myself to keep her far away from those soldiers.

"P-please!" The chief pleaded. "Have mercy! She's just a child who knows nothing of this!" My body trembled. How...how could they...why would they do this?! This is just CRUEL! It's just like in my own village. I had flashbacks from when the old woman tried to protect her granddaughter. All the young girls being taken from their homes, their families. I watched in terror, my heart pounding so hard it hurt.
