Chapter 5 The Thoughts

Second person POV. IT CHANGED!

You all walked back to Ik-soo's after seeing the clinic and creating a memorial for your mother. Everyone was talking happily and making a game plan about what to do next except for you. You were lost in thought, thinking about your mother and what could have happened to her after you left.

Maybe she got away?

Maybe they took her?

Maybe they buried her somewhere?

You didn't know, and the situation at hand had your head spinning and your heart racing.

Was she dead?

Did they take her captive?

Would you ever know?

As you thought about everything, you slowly went deeper and deeper into your own world, the sounds in the room becoming muffled and getting quieter with every passing moment. This made Shin-ah worried. He hadn't been sitting next to you at first. He had decided to sit on the opposite side of you to give you some more time with Yoon and Yona. You seemed to feel better with them. He wanted you to feel better, to smile again like you had on the way back from the clinic. But you weren't. Instead, you were staring blankly into the fir, knees against your chest and hands messing with the hem of your dress. Shin-ah stood and asked Yona if he could switch places with her. She, of course, said yes and moved to his former spot between Kija and Zeno. He sat down next you, Hak on his other side, and stared at you worriedly. You hadn't even noticed him as you stared into the fire in thought. Soon you had moved into his lap, your hair being played with like it had been anytime you sat with Shin-ah. He felt calmer having you close. 

He didn't know why, but he felt like he needed to protect you. Ever since he met you and saw your smile he wanted to keep you safe. At first, he knew he couldn't since they would be leaving Ik-soo's soon. But then he saw you run into that alley and the man that was chasing you. And at that moment he wanted nothing more than to protect you. So he followed you into the alley and grabbed you, stopping you when you started hitting him. And when he saw how scared you were, how you almost fainted, he knew he needed to stay close to you. He needed to keep you in his line of vision in order to ensure your safety. He also knew he was being selfish by wanting to keep you attached to him, but you didn't seem to mind. All day anytime he was next to you you never once pushed him away. If anything you got closer. He hoped that was due to the fact that you trusted him and wanted him around.
