Chapter 3 The Priest

I slowly awoke to the feeling of something warm around me and something cushioned under my head. My eyes fluttered open, believing that everything that happened with the clinic and my mother was just a horribly twisted nightmare and I would wake up with my mother next to me. I was so wrong. My eyes focused on the tan colored ceiling above me. This was not my room that I shared with my mother. I stirred around a bit causing the cushion underneath my head to stir with me. I looked up and back behind me to see a masked man with a white fluffy headdress letting me use his lap as a pillow.

Startled, I jumped up and spun around to face him. That was a bad idea. Blood rushed to my head causing me to see stars and get a splitting headache.

"Stupid," someone sighed irritably as they entered the room. "Don't sit up so fast." I looked at the entrance to the room out of the side of my eye and saw Yoon carrying a bucket of water and a cloth. Yona was just a couple steps behind him as she carried what looked to be a change of clothes.

Clothes? I thought, my head slightly tilted as I stared. Then my eyes went wide with realization. Oh shit. I looked down at my body to see I was only covered with bandages around my chest and a blanket covering my bottom area. I blushed and covered myself as best I could with my arms. I stared at the ground, embarrassed at what the masked man had seen. I shuffled uncomfortably when I heard stirring coming from the masked man. I looked over and saw that he had moved. That's when I felt something warm and soft around me. I tensed up and looked at what had been placed around me.

To my surprise, it was the fluffy white headdress that the masked man had been wearing. As I felt of the soft fur it was made of I heard someone plop down behind me. I turned around and saw that it was the strange masked man. I could now see his hair and recognized the bright blue color almost instantly.

"Shin-ah?" I asked curiously. He nodded sharply then pulled my back towards his chest. He rested his chin on my head and played with my hair.

"Warm." Was all he whispered. Heat crept to my face yet again and I tensed a bit, but after a second I relaxed and just let him do as he pleased. I looked over at Yoon and Yona and noticed they had been preparing medicine the entire time. Yona looked over at me and smiled brightly. She crawled over to me and started wiping my face with a wet cloth.
