Alex's POV

After the restaurant we went back to the house Sarah and Kelsey were staying at. After just sitting around and talking I decided to ask Sarah if she wanted to go out for a walk. She said yes and got up from her chair leaving Austin and Kelsey to be alone. As we walked away I started to wonder what would happen between Kelsey and Austin when we left, but I was sure I would find out when Sarah and I got back. I was knocked out of my thoughts when I heard Sarah speak.

"So how long do you think we have to give them before one of them tells the other how they feel?" I looked at Sarah, letting out a laugh, "I don't know? How good is Kelsey at speaking her mind?" "Well that depends on the subject, considering it's her feelings it could take a while. What about Austin?" "He might do it, but I don't know. I've never seen him this nervous around a girl before." We sat down on part of the dock so our feet were hanging above the water.

We started talking about random stuff. Our hobbies, friendships, families, just about everything. We laughed every now and then, but it got to a point where we just looked out across the intercostal. There were houses all light up, but it was quiet. I looked at Sarah as she was studying the view. She really was pretty. It was dark outside, but the light from the moon highlighted some of her features. I must have been staring for a long time, but the next thing I knew I heard Sarah's voice ringing through my ears, "You know it's rude to stare right?" Sarah looks at me with a small smile. I let out a laugh, "I'm sorry. I didn't-" She cut me off, "It's fine Alex, I was just kidding."  "Oh, ok" we both laugh at each other.

After the laughter died down I found Sarah staring at me. "What?" "Oh, nothing. I was just thinking." Sarah states plainly.  "About what? The view? The activities that took place today? Me?" I laugh as I spoke jokingly. "All of the above." She looked at me. I was shocked, I guess she didn't know I was joking, "Sarah, you know I was just playing around, right?" She nods her head, "Yeah, I knew you were, but I wasn't." I looked at her in complete shock. I didn't know what to do so I started leaning in and so did she. I was about to kiss her, but then my phone went off. I sigh and give Sarah and "I'm sorry" look and go to take out my phone.

"It's from Austin. He said he wants us to come back to the house and go home." I text him back saying we were on our way. I go to stand up on the dock, but I am quickly pulled back down by Sarah. Before I can even get a word out of my mouth I feel Sarah's lips on mine. I kiss her back slowly, not wanting to let the moment go by too fast. Soon after I kiss back Sarah pulled away, got up and started walking back to the house. Sarah turns around and looks at me with a smile, "Are you coming or not?" I let out a small laugh, get up from the dock and catch up to Sarah. When I get next to her and grab her had and intertwine our fingers together. Sarah gives me a shy smile and we walk back to the house in silence.

Sarah's POV

As Alex and I were walking back to the house all I could think about was how I kissed him and he kissed back. If the sun was out I'm sure you would be able to how red my cheeks were. Just holding his hand felt right. I was kind of mad how Austin texted him saying he wanted to go home, but it was getting late and I wasn't sure how Kelsey's aunt would feel about coming home to two random boys in the house.

When we reached the house I noticed Kelsey and Austin were no longer on the patio chair. Kelsey probably got too cold and wanted to go inside. Alex opens the glass door or me and I see Austin sitting on the couch in the living room alone. Kelsey is no where to be seen. "Hey man, ready to go?" Austin asks Alex as he steps inside the house. "Where's Kelsey?" I look at Austin. "I'll just wait for you by the car Alex." Austin says getting up from the couch. I rush to the front door, blocking it so he can't leave. "I said where is Kelsey?" Austin looks back at Alex then at me sympathetically, "She's upstairs in her room, the doors locked. She's been up there since I texted Alex for you guys to come back." Kelsey would never lock the door unless she was really upset or didn't want to see someone. I look at Austin skeptically, "What did you do?" Austin looks down at his shoes and mumbles something but I can't hear it. "I'm sorry I didn't hear you." "I SAID I TOLD HER I LOVED HER." Austin screams taking a couple of steps toward me.

Alex rushes over, standing in front of me. Austin takes a couple steps back as soon as he sees Alex. Austin looks at the two of us, "I told her I loved her, she told me it would never work, then I tried to persuade her that it would and the next thing I knew she was telling me she can't put herself through this kind of relationship, ran upstairs, locked the door and started crying. I would have went up to talk to her, but something tells me I'm the last person she wants to see right now." Alex and I just looked at him in shock. "Maybe you boys should leave. I'll go talk to her." I look between Austin and Alex. They both nod their heads. Austin walks out of the house leaving Alex behind. I look at Alex not sure what to do.

"I had a really nice time tonight." Alex looks at me with a small smile. "I did too. Thank you for dinner and everything." I give Alex a kiss on the cheek and a hug, "I'll text you and let you know how she is. Maybe I can convince her to give him a second chance." I break away from the hug and look at Alex. "Yeah, let me know what happens. If you need anything, you have my number." I nod my head signaling yes and look down. I see Alex is holding my hands, his thumb smoothing rubbing against my skin. I look up at Alex, he gives me a kiss on cheek, "Good night Sarah" and makes his way out of the house. I close the front door and take in a deep breath.

I look at the stairs and decided it was time for me to go and talk to Kelsey. When I get to the bedroom door I knock on it softly, "Kels, it's me. The boys are gone, can I come in?" I didn't hear an answer so I decided to place my hand on the door knob to see if it was unlocked; it was. I peak into the room and see a figure laying in the bed. I walk over to find Kelsey passed out. The light from the moon made her face visible. It was lightly tear stained so she probably fell asleep crying . I decide not to wake her up, so I got ready for bed and climbed in next to Kelsey in the king size bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow I pass out.
