Kelsey's POV
I am laying on the bed in my aunt's guest room watching TV. Alex picked up Sarah two hours ago to go to the party the guys were having. I haven't made up my mind on what Austin told me earlier today, but I keep replaying it all in my head. Nothing I do makes me forget every word he said. "I would treat you like a princess. I would treat you with respect, send you gifts to show how much I love you, even comfort you durning hard times no matter where we were or the time zone difference. Most of all you being my girlfriend would have made me the luckiest guy in the world because I would have had the sweetest, most gorgeous angel in the entire world by my side."
The words just kept on repeating and repeating. God, how could Austin think I'm an angel. He barely knows me, besides what my favorite color is and all that "just getting to know each other" stuff. I don't know where in all that he found an angel.
I wanted to go out with my aunt tonight to talk to her about. She has always been good with giving me advice and what not. I heard the door open and close down stair then someone coming up the stairs. Soon my aunt appears in the door way of the guest room.
"Hey Kels. What's going on? How was your day?" "It was alright Aunt Leslie. I didn't do much but sit around and try to get a tan. Don't worry though, I didn't get burned like last vacation." I said with a smile. "Well that's good to hear. I was a little worried when you said that last part." I laugh then look back at the TV. "Hey, where did Sarah go? I thought you two were gonna hang out?" I let out a sigh and look back at my aunt, "She went over to our friends house, they're having a small movie/game night thing, so Alex picked her up about a couple of hours ago."
"Oh and you weren't invited?" "I was, I just kind of wanted to spend time with you, if that was ok." My aunt looked at my with sympathy, " Oh sweetie, I would love to, but I already have plans with Grace and some other people for dinner, maybe we can tomorrow?" "Oh, sure that's fine. Go have fun with your friends." I smiled at my aunt. I thought she was about to leave, but instead she decided to sit on the bed next to me. "Kelsey, what's wrong? Is it because Sarah is hanging out with Alex?" I shake my head saying no. "Then what is it sweetie, come on you can tell me." I looked at my aunt and told her the whole story. I told her how Sarah and I were on the beach and met Austin and his friends, how we went out to dinner and then what happened between Austin and I. I didn't leave a single detail out.
"And then after he stopped by today him and Alex left and I can't seem to get what he said out of my head." She looked at me taking in everything I just told her. "Aunt Leslie, I don't know what to do? It's not like a relationship with him would ever work out so." "And why not? Why wouldn't it Kelsey? I understand there's a distance between the two of you, but he seems like he is willing to try and make it work. I would at least give him a chance. After all you have been crazy about him every since you've heard his music." "I know, but what if at some point he regrets it. He doesn't know everything and I have a feeling when he does find out then he will run away."
"Sweetie, you won't know unless you give him a shot." I looked at my aunt and realize she's right, as always. I nodded my head, "Thank you Aunt Leslie, I think I know what I want to do." "Anytime Kels." She gives me a hug then walks out of the room to get ready for dinner with her friends. I look at my phone to check the time. I see Austin has texted me his address just after Alex picked up Sarah. He was probably hoping Alex and Sarah would show up with me. I unlocked my phone and decided to check social media. As I scroll through Twitter I see a tweet from Austin, "Fun night with my gang, but I wish you were here."
I lock my phone after seeing his tweet and decide to go downstairs to get some food. I open the cabinet and take out some crackers to munch on. "Ok Kels, I'm gonna go. Text me if you decide to go out. You can use my car if you need to drive anywhere because Grace is driving me. The keys are on the the table." "Sure, have fun! Tell Grace I said hello." And with that my aunt left the house leaving me alone with those words still in my head.
Austin's POV
I hoped Alex would have walked in with both Sarah and Kelsey, but only Sarah came. I decided to text Kelsey our address incase she decided to change her mind and that was two hours ago. I kind of gave up hope at this point that Kelsey would show up, but hey the night is still young, it's only 8pm. I checked my phone to see if I received any text, nothing. I got up and sighed making my way over to watch Zach and Robert play pool.
"Hey man, you want to play the winner?" Zach asked me when I reached the table. "Sure, why not." I watched the rest of their game. Zach beat Robert making Robert slug over to the couch at the other end of the game room. Zach and I got ready to play another game when all of the sudden we heard thunder. Well, I guess Kelsey's not going to come now.
"You okay man? You seem distracted?" Zach looks at me before he breaks the triangle of pool balls on the table. "Yeah man, I just have a lot on my mind between music and-" "Kelsey?" I look around the room and see no one else is listening to our conversation. Robert is talking with Joe, Mike and my mom are talking, Alex and Sarah are talking on the couch. I look back at Zach and nod my head. Zach was lining up his shot when I heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it! It's probably just the food." I hear Robert call out.
"Look man, you did all that you could. If she doesn't contact you, there are other fish in the sea." I listen to Zach as I take my turn, putting the 2 ball in the pocket. "Yeah, I understand that man, but there was just something about her." "I know Austin, but she's only her for a week. You know what I'm saying?" I nodded my head and lined my stick up for the next shot, "Yeah, I do."
I was about to hit the cue ball with my stick when I heard Robert come back in the room, "Austin!" I turned around to look at Robert, "It's for you." I look at everyone in the room confused. I put down the pool stick and walk out of the room. I wasn't sure what I was looking for because when I got into the foyer I saw nothing, but then something moved out of the corner of my eye on the stair case. I turn around and sitting there was the one person I thought I would probably never see or hear from again. I was so shocked that my voice came out of my throat in a whisper. "Kelsey..."
