Lucius would be the last to admit that he liked Halloween. It was a holiday that was made up many years ago; he barely remembered why though. He vaguely recalled people begging for food, but all he could do for them was take their soul or just stare into their desperate eyes. Of course Lucius had to eat every now and again; he has a physical appearance with every organ working to the fullest and it needs energy, and to get energy he needs food. His personal favorite is the cheeseburger with a bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes from the burger joint down the street. Trey had taken him there several times before, he had always just gotten the plain burger. He was always rather simple. The football player wore plain cloths, normal shoes, and a forgettable haircut. The only thing that stood out about him was his dark ember eyes. They could almost be mistaken for orange at times in the right lighting and on occasion they'd melt to be a chocolate like color. But it didn't matter what color they were to Lucius, he always looked in them when Trey talked to him.
"So are you going to dress up for the Halloween Party?" He wondered. Lucius stared at him in an almost disgusted manner. Him, dress up for Halloween? That'd be the day. With his sudden silence Trey repeated his question, "Lucius," he snapped his fingers in front of the Reaper's face, "Are you going to dress up for the Halloween Party?" Halloween Party? What was he talking about? Maybe that's why the room is all orange and black; Macy had come by with decorations, pumpkins, and paper cut outs of white ghosts, black cats, and spiders.
"What Halloween party?" Lucius questioned. Not that he'd actually willing go to a party; the Reapers never were the ones to socialize. After all, living forever means people get boring after awhile.
"They throw one every year." Zaden informed as he got out of the shower. His black hair slick with water and an equally dark towel around his waist. "It's held in the same place every year, the old mansion that is in the middle of campus." Ah, that old thing, it had been created before the college was even thought of. The creators of it were said to be John Prescott and his wife Wilma Prescott. Together, the two had seven children, two died a few years after birth, and one was supposedly murdered inside the house. John committed suicide after not being able to cope with his grief. After his sudden death, Wilma married twice, but conceived no children in those marriages. Only two of the children ever came back to the manor. William Prescott, his wife Sara, and his sister, Penny, unmarried at the age of 23.
From there the story varies depending on who is telling it, either way the house was thought to be haunted. Lucius has been in there, there are quite a few suspicious that go on there; however, there are no 'spirits' lurking about. Most of these 'hauntings' are merely pixies or faeries having fun with terrorizing humans. Spirits always lurk on a certain plain, when you're dead, you either go to Heaven, Hell or Purgatory. There is no 'staying behind'. Even demons need corporal bodies to actually do anything, that includes angels too. Grim Reapers on the other hand have the best of both worlds, since they aren't actually dead they don't need to possess a living body in order affect the plain of the living. Most of the Courts consider them Necromancers; people who can summon the dead and talk the living; however, they barely like they living and the dead complained too much.
"Oh, Prescott Manor?" Lucius said, "they allow students there?" Pixies tended to play rough, they threw objects around, flickered the lights, and made weird sounds. Faeries tend to mess with people's heads, making them hear voices, see things they shouldn't, and in all just make them insane. It is on the rare occasion that the two ever kill; they never mean harm towards the humans (or at least that was what they say), they just wanted to play a game.
"Yeah," Zaden informed, "but we almost got kicked out two years back; one of the freshmen went missing in the mansion. The police ended up finding him one of the hidden libraries with his girlfriend. Apparently they went to go find a quiet place and got locked in one of them." Lucius laughed; he always found the stupidity of others funny. Which is why he always laughed when he is forced to go to accompany another Reaper to a Court meeting, he has to prevent himself from giggling. But that sounded like something the pixies would do; they loved their pranks.
