The Immortal Plain is a rather dark place, it's quite surprising that anything can live there. And it's equally shocking that anything can find its way around the world without bumping into monsters or falling into pits, but everyone seems to manage though.

And if you're wondering why they choose to stay here in this dark and seemingly hopeless place, it's not because they want to. It's because they have to. Grim Reapers aren't allowed to live in the word of man or in the realm of death due to their stance on how they view The Court's 'rules'. So in the Reaper's act of defiance they were sentenced to an eternal life of solitude and shadows.

Do they regret it? Some do...but freedom comes at a price and this is the cost of theirs.

But the Immortal Plain can be beautiful at times, once every few hundred years God lets them have a single day of light. At that time you can see the breathtaking landscape that was created for them.

The ground beneath their feet is a wonderful shade of amber and in the light it looks like shimmering gold. Instead of blue as their sky, it's a magical hue of purple that is framed by black charcoal clouds which was nice against the metallic leaves of the towering trees. The only things that is similar to color to the human realm is the water, it's still blue. But it's weird though, considering the only reason water is blue on Earth is because it reflects the sky...so magic must be the excuse for that.

But the color only lasts for one Earth day unfortunately; and then it goes back to dull and depressing.

Lucius loved those breath taking moments though, the beauty in the forsaken lands of the Immortal Plain. He had hated this place at first, so dark and dreary. His mentor told he would resent it but after a few hundred years, he was bound to see the Plains as home. Lucius did of course, his mentor was always right unfortunately. Down to the detail he seemed to know what his Apprentice would do, when he would mess up, and what he would do correctly. If he had been in the Human Realm he would have been called a Psychic. That is what they call people like that, right?

Luciano's mentor, Amos, a kind man, but broke down to the rules of society and let them make his choices and decisions. He always listened to everyone and accepted everyone's opinion. Though he tried to make Lucius like that, his Apprentice wouldn't conform to his ideas. Lucius was...a—how would he put it...a strong willed young man. He wouldn't let anyone change who he was or what he stood for and Amos respected him for that, but the mentor wouldn't let him off the hook that easily.

"You have to find an Apprentice." Amos said lightly as he sat quietly in Lucius's house. He had been trying to convince Lucius to get an Apprentice...but he was less than motivated to find one. In his personal opinion being a Grim Reaper wasn't a blessing. He'd be taking a person from their home, their family, friends, and life. He would be taking them from their world and placing them in an endless, dark, despair of a world without their permission. Lucius wasn't going to apologize for what he thought or for not being diligent about finding an Apprentice, "Lucius," he repeated again trying to stress his point, "Did you hear me?"

The dark scarlet haired man sighed as he walked out of his room in his 'official' uniform, "Yes, I did hear you." He flashed him a grin, "and I'm pretending care."

"Lucius," Amos said again but in a slightly more annoyed and serious tone, "this isn't just something you can push off—"

"I have a duty to the Courts, we all do, and we all have rules we have to follow." Lucius finished in a mocking tone as he adjusted the dark cloth that wrapped around him. He hated uniforms, those bloody Courts, if they actually cared about the part they play they wouldn't control every possible detail, "I know, I know—why do you think I'm dressed like this?"
