Sirge walked next to Lina and they smiled at one another and Lina felt warm and fuzzy. She curled her loose hair around her fingers.
‘What is this feeling which is driving me insane? I don’t understand why do I feel this way’ Lina thought to herself. She stopped shaking her head hoping the thoughts would scatter but they remained.
“Anything the matter?” Sirge asked her
“No nothing” she lied she walked pass him then stopped and turned back around. “Well actually, I think, well, I’m not sure what no I thing I know, it’s not easy to say but I think-”
“DUCK!” Sirge interrupted leaping forward to pull her to the ground as a dagger flew over their heads.
“what’s going on!” Lina shrieked as Sirge pulled her to her feet.
“Tenji”
“What are they?”
“Not what but who”
“Who then?!”
“the elite fire kingdom assassins, skilled in killing, espionage and capture” Sirge said calming pulling Lina closer to him so that her face was on his chest.
“Are they here to kill us?”
“Not kill nor us, they are here to take me to the fire kingdom”
“Why?”
“Probably because I’m a thorn in the side of the king”
“Why?”
“I don’t bend to his will, I help people and I never listen to what laws he creates but most of all I believe Aluna the very person who can destroy his takeover is alive and I’m am inches from finding her!” the last part he yelled and spat at the hiding Tenji.
“What do we do?”
“We do what every good rebel does, we fight back” with that he clicked his fingers flames burst out of them and he blew the flames in a circle catching on anything flammable lighting the wide dark alley.
“Now calm down sire, we have our orders and if you don’t follow them we will be forced to bring you back to the castle by force” a man said
“ah but captain,” Sirge said, “you will have to take me back there by force whatever I do wether I run or give in because I am not going back there willingly, and I once get there I leaving again”
“there I am sorry in advance sire,” the captain bowed to Sirge “Men capture him by whatever force necessary but we must take him back alive!” the captain muttered something about the fact that they would follow Sirge to death if they did kill him but Lina didn’t have time to listen to the rambling of a captain.
Sirge and Lina glided between men dashing dancing around them as Sirge threw fire balls at them and then the swirling stopped. Sirge had taken Lina down a side alley.
“Run away as quietly as you can, make sure you don’t get caught. Do you remember the white of the forest?”
Lina nodded her reply
“Go there it will protect any in need and we although I wish it was untrue we are in too deep with these Tenji”
“What about you?”
“I’ll be fine I’ll meet you there later I can beat these guys up a lot better when you’re not around.”
“Oh that’s kind, so I’m just a useless girl?”
“No! It’s just… I don’t want to see the only shred of hope for finding Aluna get hurt, and well… oh just go we are wasting time! GO!”
Lina propelled herself down the alleyways, grabbing onto the walls as she turned the corners to stop her from falling. She was scared, no terrified. Lina took a chance to glance behind her to see nothing so she slowed down to a walking pace. Something tingled at her nerves.
