Ellen had taken us back to what I assumed was our base while I wasn't in control of my body, she then left wishing us good fortune. We stood at the entrance before Marcus spoke.
"So I say we gear up so if any unfriendly people show were ready and then Ray, you head over to comms and try to get a hold of anyone while me and Artemis go salvage what we can. Sound good?" He offered.
"No arguments here." Ray replied.
Marcus looked at me waiting for an answer.
"Don't look at me, I've never been inside before." I said.
"Oh yeah thats right..." Marcus said with an obvious realization written on his face.
We proceeded with the plan and headed to the armory and picked up whatever felt best in our hands.
'First things first I gotta get some other clothes while the top isn't so bad I hate this skirt I'm wearing' I thought to myself.
Looking around I saw the had an assortment of tops, but no pants at all.
"What kinda armory doesn't have fucking pants?!" I shouted angrily.
Marcus and Ray giggled smugly to them selves, I gave them an irritated glare and they continued about.
"Oh yeah thats right, I'll be back a second." Ray said as he ran out the door with an M-16 with him.
I sighed and gave up on my search for pants while throwing on a black top and decided to find some weapons. I picked out a P226 off the rack and looked for a holster, all thigh holsters.
'Man this is gonna chafe like a bitch' I groaned internally.
I grabbed a holster and a few spare mags for my 226 and set them on the bench behind me when Ray walked back into the room tossing me a jacket.
"Here I saved this for ya." He said.
I scrabbled to catch it and saw that it was my old grey fleece jacket from the SHELL base. I happily threw it on and zipped it up.
"Thanks! Wait didn't I get stabbed in this? Wheres the hole?" I asked.
"Oh Caren, patched it up..." He said faltering at the end.
"Speaking of where is she? She doing good?" I asked throwing on a green chest rig and harness.
Marcus and Ray just looked to each other for a few seconds.
"Do you really not remember anything of what happened Artemis?" Marcus asked as he stopped loading a Mossberg.
"No, I don't. All I remember is getting stabbed and passing out on the helo when we escaped the SHELL base."
"Well she's dead." Marcus said returning to load his shotgun.
I felt there was more to it than that but I didn't feel like pressing the issue any further. I grabbed a tac-belt and attached the holster before slapping it on my right thigh and tightening it so it wouldn't slide around as much. After that went over and grabbed a SCAR-H and put on a suppressor, a fore grip, and a EOtech sight on it before grabbing several spare mags and putting them into the pouches on my rig. Grabbing a small shoulder pack I went around putting in other things I felt I could use in the bag before slinging it over and grabbing a radio and a headset. I walked over to Ray and Marcus.
"Ready to move out when you are." I informed them.
"Alright then lets get to it." Marcus said slapping a mag into an M4.
