There was no way we could have known this was coming. Sure Neo-Nazis were around before but they were just small groups of extremists who kept to themselves that dotted the country. When the first reports of the Nazis rioting in California I didn't think to much on it because it wasn't anywhere near where I lived being all the way in Washington. But when the attacks started to spread like wildfire around the west coast San Deigo, Portland, Olympia, Seattle, I found myself glued to the news trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Finally, on a cold winter's night at the end of January a message was broadcasted to the whole country.
"To all Americans, we are taking this land and from this land we will take the world and build a unified world order. This world is clouded with the corruption of the few wealthy in a mad scramble for power. We shall cleanse this evil from this world and bring forth from the ashes a world of perfection in all things. You cannot stop us for we are many, and we have eyes, ears, and the will to bring change. A final word to those who will inevitably resist us, you cannot hide from us and be wary of those you hold dear. For they might be one of us." a masked figure on the T.V. said
I stared intently at the black screen, waiting for some one to slap me and wake me up from this nightmare. But as I knew this reality was over, I picked up my phone from off the table and started a group message to my close friends. "Get ready, we're about to be in one helluva fight." was all I needed to say. Of the all the replies the only ones heeded my call were Ray, Marcus, Cooper, and Josh. The others were more concerned about sticking with their families. Luckily mine had took a trip to Texas to look for houses or I might have been the same. I started packing all the things I would need to survive the long road to my family when the Nazis' attack came to the Naval Air station here. I began packing my military bag with a set of basic survival needs food, water, etc. I packed an IPad with a charger, my journal, four knives, and an extra pair of pants. I headed to where we keep the guns in our house when my phone buzzed. Some one was calling, I pulled out my phone and saw it was mom and I immediately answered.
"Hey mom.." I said emotion void in my voice.
"Kyle! are you okay? Please tell me your okay!" she said frantically.
"Yeah I'm fine, I'm packing everything I'll need to make my way to you guys."
"Oh thank goodness. Wait how do you plan on getting here?"
"Me, Ray, Marcus, and Josh are all gonna travel together to Texas. We plan on taking the truck and driving to you."
"What about the Nazis?! Did you forget they're going to kill everyone?!"
"Thats why we're taking guns..." I said as if it were obvious as I grabbed the AR-15 and 1911 from my parent's room.
"I see... Well-." static blocked out her voice for a second then the call dropped.
"Shit..."
I resumed packing the ammo for the respective guns I retrieved, luckily we had bought lots before my family left. I suddenly heard a vehicle pull up, I grabbed the 1911, loaded a mag in and racked it. Marcus' car was in the driveway with bullet holes in the windshield. I felt my heart stop for a second at the thought of one my brothers getting hit fatally, but to my relief I saw Marcus exit the car unscathed grabbing a bag and a shotgun from the backseat.
"Kyle! You gonna help me with this shit?" Marcus yelled to me as I stood on the front porch in slight disbelief.
"Yeah man I got you." I said as I grabbed a bag.
I started walking to the house again when we heard another vehicle pull up behind the bushes in front of the driveway. Me and Marcus stopped what we were doing and took up shooting stances. Tonight had been a night of relief as we saw Ray, Cooper, and Josh pour out of the car.
"Whats up bitches!" Ray said excitedly.
"Son of a... Damn its good to see you." I said as I felt the anxiety leave me.
We all grabbed the gear from Marcus' and Ray's cars and went into the house, I cleared off my dining room table so we good use it to set the gear onto.
"So whats the game plan?" Cooper asked.
Everyone looked to me.
"Well my plan is we load up into the truck and drive to Texas, if things change on the way then we'll adapt to them. Does that sound good with everyone?" I said as the weight was put back on me.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Alright, then lets get all we can outta this house and start getting some distance from the bastards."
We packed everything we could from food to to extra gear the others could use. While everyone was packing I took a second to pull up the news on my phone. My eyes went wide in astonishment, Califonia had fallen. With all the gangs, gun owners, heck even it's military presence it had still been taken. They really were everywhere.
"Guys listen up. We gotta get the fuck outta here or its gameover. Califonia is gone." I said solemnly.
"No fuckin way..." Ray said.
"Shit." Josh said.
"God Damnit" Cooper added in.
Marcus just continued packing but at faster pace. When he finished he headed out the back door.
"Lets load em up!" he yelled.
