I looked in the mirror after splashing my face with water, my black hair hanging down my face almost covering my yellow eyes and only making my tired look even worse.

"Dammit, this delivery better be important as fuck if they woke me up for it." I groaned to myself leaving the bathroom tying my hair into a ponytail as I walked into  my room.

I put on my standard Shell issue uniform, black reinforced shirt, pants, and boots. I threw on a black button up long sleeve and rolled the sleeves up half way and put on some fingerless gloves before putting on a black ballcap with an angry wolf on it. I adjusted my hat so my wolf ears popped through the holes I cut out on the hat. Finally I grabbed my drop-leg holster with my 1911 housed in it, a few spare mags, and a high powered stun baton before heading out the door.

I walked through the hallways and different wings of the facility towards the hangar. A bunch of other Shells and other personnel who walked by me quickened their pace when I walked in their direction then I noticed I must look super pissed off at something and to be avoided. Didn't help that I was the chief enforcer around here and once the head of security dies or quits I'll probably be put there, not that I cared either way and continued to the hangar. When I got there they helo with delivery hadn't shown up yet so I picked a crate to sit down on and waited.

It was about 25 minutes until the hangar doors opened and let the Seattle storm roll in a bit. The helo made it's way in and from the looks of it someone who hasn't flown much was it's pilot. Suspicious I lowered the hammer on my 1911 but kept it holstered, the helo landed with a thud before the rotors slowed to a safe speed as I made my approach to the door and stopped about 20 feet from it. The door opened and I drew my 1911 prepared to fire as the body of the pilot fell out of the helo with a crunch from his gear.

"Don't shoot! Everything is alright Fenrir!" I heard a familiar voice call within.

I lowered my gun as a man in a white lab coat stepped out with a smile on his face.

"Ah Doctor Alec, I didn't know you left the base." I said surprised decocking and holstering my 1911.

"Well as far as anyone is concerned I didn't. Keep it a secret ?"

"Yeah I think I could do that. Now what happened to the pilot and who flew the helo?"

"Ah I managed to fly us back after and the pilot had an unfortunate run in with our cargo."

"Well wheres the rest of the crew, theres no way they'd let you go alone, secret mission or not."

"Ah well, they uh all died except one whose keeping our cargo held down."

"Well get it out here so we can secure it."

"Alright. Okay bring her out!" Doctor Alec called to the helo.

That was when I saw my rival step out of the helo, a German Shepard Shell type named Rex, he attention though was focused on the metal pole that was connected to a collar around someone's neck.

"You captured someone?" I asked.

Looking back at me and smiling Rex answered, "Yeah she was a tough one ha, took a harpoon to the gut and still killed just about everyone on board. Good thing I was there instead of you, you'd have bit the big one Fenrir."

"Tch." I clicked my tongue.

Rex dragged the person out with the pole keeping his distance, the person didn't make any voluntary movements as she was dragged across the smooth hangar floor. As they passed by I got a better look at her, her small build was covered in a shredded desert combat uniform with a hole exposing her belly, her face was dirty with old scars that had reopened but had stopped bleeding, her blue eyes had a vacant look to them,  lastly her short silver hair was dirty with cat ears atop her head.

"Wait, shes a Shell?"

"Yes, and an important one too. Her typing was experimental, they only had one strand of dna that made her and it was lost at the Bravo site." Doctor Alec informed.

"Thats the Shell base that was lost a while back right?" Rex asked.

"Precisely."

"Well what is she?" I asked.

"I can't say. At least not now."

I gave him an unapproving  stare before nodding.

"At least get something to put her on, I don't need you dragging her through the base and causing a stir or choking her out from that collar."

"Your not head of security yet Fen." Rex smirked.

"Can it, I'm still the chief enforcer around here."

And with that I turned and started to leave the hangar before Doctor Alec spoke up.

"Fenrir stop by my office tomorrow afternoon, I'll have somethings for you."

Keeping my pace I gave a thumbs up and left the hangar.

                                                                               Arthur

"FUCK!" Ray yelled before punching a hole through the wall of the briefing room.

Marcus sat in a chair with the last one he sat in torn in half in front of him, Mitchell sat with his head on the table with Duncan kept kept pacing around room with look not to be messed with. I sat with my hands put together and and pressed my forehead against them. Breaking the solemn silence Commander Hicks walked in and everyone stood up.

"Sit down, sit down." He said softly.

None of us sat down.

"Commander are you sure its wise to be here right now, after all two of them are you know..." A lieutenant said walking in behind him.

"Rojas now is not the time."

"Who the fuck is this guy!?" Marcus yelled.

"Excuse me? I'm a superior officer and you'll address me as such!" Rojas demanded.

"Rojas! You are dismissed!" Commander Hicks barked.

Defeated Rojas nodded and turned to walk out but not before some final words.

"If it were up to me I'd have left them there and I most certainly wouldn't be rescuing a damn freak!"

Duncan had had it as he rushed up and gave Rojas a right hook to the jaw sending him sprawling into the hallway.

"Duncan stand down!" Commander Hicks said pulling Duncan back from beating Rojas to death.

"You piece of filth, mark my words I'll have your head one day!" Rojas said before running off.

"Dammit Duncan, your lucky your part of this little group now and not still in Motor-T."

"I've been charged with worse." Duncan replied.

This lightened the mood a little bit as we all had a chuckle before returning our attention to Commander Hicks.

"Boys I'd love to tell you we could go get Artemis right away but our drones tracked that helo all the way to Seattle." Hicks said with sadness in his voice.

"Son of..." I said with similar reactions from everyone else.

"I'm working on everything I can to get her back but my hands are tied to this front and unless theres a major development it might be a long time till we can get her back. I'm sorry.... With all the tech you recovered from that base though if you can come up with something with it or if you got a solid plan, I might just not notice your absence." He said smiling weakly.

"Thank you sir." Ray said.

With that Hicks left.

"So we got a plan?"

"Meh" Duncan said.
