Friday couldn't come any sooner. I wanted to see Dad again; we hardly ever get to because he's always on business. Over the summer, our servants are the ones who take care of us. We don't have a mother. She died after giving birth to Carter. Maybe that's why he's so messed up. Cooper and I got to spend time with our mother, and he didn't. But I don't see why he has to act this way - if that's the reason. I was only 3 when she died. I only remember her through pictures.

Anyway, Spence and Sophia seemed more excited to leave than I was. It wasn't because this was a bad school or anything, it was just better than staying around here all weekend.

Before we left for the day, Spence turned on the news. They were talking about the robotic prosthetics again. Only this time, it was a talk show host and my brother.

"Dr. Van Doile, tell me about these robotic prosthetics," the odd looking robot asked.

Cooper answered, leaning forward in his comfy chair, "Well, they are packed with weaponry, as you all know. With the people out there these days, disabled people should be able to protect themselves, am I right?"

The robot's head nodded. "Of course. And you're the one who created it, right?"

Cooper nodded. "Yes. I designed it, and let my other teammates make it because they don't trust me."

"They don't trust you?"

"I don't trust me," he shrugged.

The people in the background started laughing at that comment.

"Has anyone used them yet?"

"Uhm...no, not yet. We're waiting until someone around the Vegas area ends up having an amputation and wants this kind of prosthetic."

"No one wants this kind?"

Cooper shook his head, "I didn't mean it like that. We just haven't had anybody lose an arm or leg since the prosthetic has been made."

Spence turned off the television. "C'mon. We're going to be late."

We headed out the door. Sophia said, "I didn't know Cooper made that."

I shrugged. "I didn't either. But that answers my question if he'll be home this weekend. And probably not...." I sighed.

"You never know. Maybe your dad gave him the message that he's coming home."

"Maybe," I half smiled.

Then headed out of the building and walked to our designated classes. My class was physics. Sophia was going to Algebra II, and Spence was going to anthropology.

I wished that they were with me. I didn't know why, I never really felt like this before. I ususally didn't care if we didn't have every class together. And today, I did.

At the end of the day, the six of us met up with Carter and his four friends. He acted like he was the coolest guy in school, standing in the middle of his pack. I didn't keep eye contact with him though. That boy drives me crazy.

Two limozines drove up on the parking lot. Each chauffeur stepped out and held the door open for us. "Would you like me to take your bags?"

Jett dropped his bag and headed into the limo. He loved them; he thought he was so cool riding in them. Don't worry, he wasn't high today. He didn't even pack any weed with him. I checked three times.

I handed my bags to Mr. Black, and headed inside the limo. I sat down on one of the side seats and strapped myself in. Jett was sitting on the seats that were in the back of the limo, facing straight. There was plenty of room for all of us to fit in.
