First Person Point of View
We lived in Madgascar for about a week with no problems. Things were getting better. Cooper let us do whatever we wanted. He didn't mind if we snuck over to each others' rooms anymore. Mostly for my benefit. I still didn't want to be alone, but I was okay. I didn't feel upset or happy about it, either way.
"Hey," Riley stood in my doorway.
I was getting dressed, zipping up my shorts. I turned and my eyes widened. "Do you know how to knock?!" I wasn't wearing a shirt or tank. Just a bra.
He shrugged. "It doesn't matter. No one else is going to see."
I sighed.
He closed the door behind him and walked into the room more. "So I've got news."
"What?" I picked up shirt a little, then paused. I turned my head to him.
"It's Crys."
"What about her?" I flipped my shirt over my head and pushed my arms through the sleeves.
"She's pregnant."
My eyes widened. "What?!"
He nodded. "But you can't tell anyone. She was telling Coop, and I just happened to overhear."
I rolled my eyes. "That's disgusting. Why...how long has she been pregnant?"
"I guess a month. I think she said her period's late and she tested herself. She brought a pregnancy test because before they left last month they...uh..."
I shook my head. "Don't say it! You're putting bad images in my head."
"Sorry. But yeah, she's pregnant."
"This just adds on to the list of crap..." I ruffled through my hair, looking at myself in the mirror.
"You look fine," he crossed his arms, staring at me.
I looked at his reflection in the mirror. "How'd you know I was going to ask that?"
"What don't I know about you, Sis?"
I nodded. "Good point." I looked at the part of my cheek that had no skin. My hand moved up to my face. I nearly touched it, but didn't. I haven't touched it, and I don't plan on it. Well, that was a lie. I've tried, but I just can't do it.
Riley walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me from behind. "What are your plans for today?"
"What I usually do."
We both said in unison, "Take a shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush my (your) teeth, do a few stretches, run for about an hour, come back, read for an hour, eat lunch, train Spence and Soph to get fit for 2 hours, take a nap for an hour, hang around till dinner, eat, take another shower, hang around till about 9, go to bed, and read till I (you) get tired."
I smiled, nodding my head.
"I know you too well, Little Sis."
"No, I have nothing better to do when our older brother is very protective over me."
He nodded. "I'm quite surprised he even lets you go out running."
"Well, I run with Anakin and or Eli. I'm not alone when I do it."
"True. Which reminds me: Where is Eli?"
"He woke up before I did. I don't know. He might be at breakfast. Have you eaten yet?"
He shook his head.
"Come with?"
He nodded.
We walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen. We grabbed some food - I only grabbed a package of Pop Tarts; Riley grabbed everything in sight - and headed for the front room. Everyone was sitting there eating.
