Naruto's Parental Guardian (Naruto fanfic / Kakashi Love Story) *Complete*

4 Years Later

Age 14

4 years had passed since the day that Minato and Kushina had saved me. I had settled in well in Konoha and was officially at an ANBU rank. When Minato had tested me, he had seen my potential and sent me to the ninja school for a little while for me to learn what I needed to before he allowed me to take the exams, such as the Chunin Exam, Jonin Exam and the test to become an ANBU member. I aced it and became a well known and young ANBU, just like Kakashi. Kakashi and I had become good friends and he talked more around me than he did around his team. During the four years, an incident occurred where his team members died. The first was crushed by a large boulder, while the other was accidentally killed by Kakashi's Chidori. I felt sorry for him as I knew the memory of her weighed down on him, and so did the memory of Obito's, no matter how much they used to argue. We were there for him though and didn't allow him to close himself off more. Instead I roped him into doing missions with me and spending time with me around the village. Kushina and Minato were expecting a boy and I could remember the day she found out all too clearly.

Flashback ***

Minato and I were indoors before the front door opened to reveal a very excited Kushina.
"Huh? A baby?" Minato murmured confused while holding onto a bowl that he was stirring for our food.
"I'm going to be a mother, ya know!" Kushina exclaimed merrily.
"And I'm going to be a father." Minato gaped in shock and excitement.
"A mother, ya know!" Kushina said again.
"I'm going to be a father!" Minato exclaimed this time. Watching the both of them made me feel amused. I was happy for them both, and their reactions right now were comical.
"A mother, ya know! Kushina grinned, walking forwards with her hands on her belly.
"Imagine that, I'm going to be a father!" Minato beamed. Kushina leapt forward, throwing her arms around his neck and the both of them laughed merrily. A smile curved up my lips as I watched them both. This baby was going to be born into a world with the best two parents ever.

When the time came for Kushina to have a baby, the previous Hokage mentioned how she needed to be taken out of the village to have the baby in a barrier. The third's wife, Biwako told Kushina that she would take her there while I needed to go on a mission. I felt extremely disappointed that the Hokage had decided to send me away for the baby's birth, but as a member of the ANBU I did not question him or Minato. Minato seemed sad that he had to send me away, but he knew that I was best for the job. While we walked, I was going the same way as Kushina and Biwako so I tagged along. On the way we bumped into one of the Uchiha Clan. A nice lady who already had a child. His name was Itachi and hers was Mikoto Uchiha.
"Oh." Mikoto smiled, glancing up to see us three. In her arms laid a baby boy with the Uchiha black hair and eyes.
"Oh my....." Kushina beamed, moving closer for a better look at the baby. "Was it a girl?" She asked. I gave her a disbelieving look as even I could tell that the baby was male.
"It's a boy." Mikoto laughed softly.
"So cute..... What's your name?" Kushina smiled.
"Sasuke." Mikoto informed us proudly.
"Oh, so he was named after the father of the Third Hokage." Biwako smiled.
"Yes. So he will grow up to be a strong and fine Shinobi." Mikoto explained with a gentle smile on her face as she gazed down at her son who began to fidget and cry slightly in her arms. "You will be giving birth soon too, right Kushina? You should pick a name in advance."
"I already have." She beamed. In fact it was Jiraiya, the Pervy Sage as I called him, who had chosen the babies name. He was also the god father of the child and Minato's sensei. "His name will be Naruto." She said, leaning in and putting a hand on Sasuke's head. "You'll be classmates, Sasuke, so be friends, ok?" She leant forward and whispered something to Mikoto but I ignored her and began playing with little Sasuke. Tickling him, I smiled when I heard him giggle and gurgle happily.
"Let's go, Kushina!" Biwako groaned, grabbing hold of Kushina and pulling her along.
"Ah, yes." She chuckled, waving to the both of us. "See you when you get back Katsu!" I waved back to her before turning back to Mikoto.
"Can I hold him?" I asked warily. She seemed surprised by my question but nodded with a grin.
"Oh, I didn't know you liked children Katsu." She chuckled, handing Sasuke over to me. He let out a little cry due to being taken from his mother, but soon calmed down as he looked up into my red eyes. "He likes you too." She informed me with a soft laugh.
"I hope so. I want to help look after Naruto when I come back, so if Sasuke likes me, then here's hoping that Naruto does too." I explained, gazing down at the child in my small arms who seemed content enough to just lay there staring back up at me.
"I'm sure you'll do perfectly well. Itachi already likes you. He's not much older so I'm sure he'll love you, just like he'll love his parents." She reassured me, ruffling my red hair. Glancing up at the sky, she seemed to realise what the time was and gasped. "Oh. It's that late, huh? I need to be heading home. Good luck on your mission Katsu. Come back to us in one piece ok?" I handed Sasuke back to her and with a wave, I jogged to the front gates. Pulling my ANBU mask over my face, I ran through the gates and headed off in the direction of my destination. A village not far from here. By the time this mission was over, Kushina would have given birth and we could all be happy together looking after little Naruto! I couldn't wait!
