I'd finally given birth and I can tell you this. Getting the baby out was fine, it was the labor pains that were unbearable. However it was all worth it to see the end result. Sitting up in the hospital bed, I had my little baby girl in my arms. Tsunade and Kakashi were also in the room with us and were watching with smiles on their faces. My little girl had my red eyes but had tuffs of white hair so she took after her father there. She was gorgeous.
"What are you going to call her?" Tsunade asked. Thinking about it for a moment, I looked up and met Kakashi's eye.
"Yuki? Yuki Hatake." I smiled.
"It's beautiful." Kakashi agreed, a grin beneath his mask as he came over and sat on the bed beside me. "Just like you both." Tsunade chuckled and left us alone, amused by Kakashi's soft and romantic attitude towards my daughter and I. "This is a perfect moment to ask." He mumbled before kneeling on the floor and taking something out of his pocket. "Will you marry me and be my wife, Katsu?" My eyes flew open and I gasped at the beautiful silver ring that had a little diamond on the top.
"Oh........ Yes." I beamed, grabbing his shirt with one hand and pulling him towards me. Our lips met and he eagerly kissed me back. We pulled back at the sound of our baby gurgling. Glancing down, I smiled softly and gave her my finger to play with. Her hands were so small and she was just so precious. I was the happiest woman in the world. After being released from the hospital after a few days, I broke the news to everyone about our engagement which caused more cheers. Konohamaru and his friends came round our house on the day we got home to see the baby. The three of them stared at Yuki in my arms and grinned.
"She's so cute!" Moegi exclaimed.
"Of course she is." Konohamaru beamed proudly.
"Con.... congratulations." Udon stammered with a smile.
"Thank you guys." I smiled. "Of course she's going to get looked after by her big family from now on. You'll all help me right?" They nodded frantically causing me to laugh. "Isn't that good news Yuki?" I murmured, looking down at my baby girl who's red eyes met my own.
"Where's the baby?!" A voice shouted from the front door. Four pairs of footsteps ran towards the front room where me and the kids were. Kurenai, Anko and Sakura stood there smiling. Ino had a bunch of flowers in her arms while Sakura had some chocolates.
"Hey everyone." I chuckled. Sakura and Ino came over and set down the chocolates and flowers on the coffee table. "Thanks you too."
"Thought you'd want the flowers to brighten the home and keep her peaceful." Ino mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"It's really kind of you, thank you Ino. Thank you as well Sakura, I'll be sure to dig into those." I winked, grinning at the two who beamed in return.
"What's her name then?" Anko demanded, kneeling in front of me and letting Yuki play with her finger.
"Her name's Yuki Hatake." Kakashi replied for me, entering the room and picking up the chocolates and flowers. He went into the kitchen and I knew he was putting the flowers in a vase for me.
"Yuki, huh? Suits her well." Kurenai smiled, sighing softly. "She's adorable."
"If only Naruto were here. I'm sure she'd like to meet him." Sakura spoke up.
"That she would. I have a feeling he's going to have to keep her out of trouble." I laughed. "Would you like to hold her?" I asked, my eyes meeting Sakura's. She looked shocked before nodding nervously. I gestured for her to sit on the sofa next to me then Kurenai put a cushion beneath her arms. Standing up, I leant over and placed Yuki in Sakura's arms, making sure the head was supported. "There we go." I sighed, standing up straight once Yuki was happily settled in Sakura's arms.
"Ah! No fair! I wanna hold too." Ino frowned, unhappy that her rival got there before her.
"You can hold her next, I promise." I smiled, ruffling her hair which caused her to pout before giggling. "I'm going to have a bath. Call me if I'm needed." They nodded and waved me off, saying she'd be fine with them. Seeing the grin on Anko's face, I felt a little nervous but went up for a bath anyway when I saw Kakashi come back in and gesture that he'd watch them. Smiling gratefully at him, I went upstairs and had a nice warm bath.By the time I was done, the kids had gone home and so had Anko, leaving only Kurenai who was smiling down at the baby in her arms. She looked like a natural mother and I smiled at the thought of her and Asuma getting together and possibly having a child one day. They loved each other and it was obvious. All they needed to do was hook up and get married then they'd both be happy for life.
"How is she?" I asked softly, glancing down at my sleeping baby.
"Tired." She chuckled, handing Yuki back to me. Having sensed her mother, Yuki snuggled up instantly into my chest. Leaning down, I kissed her forehead before smiling at Kurenai again.
"This will be you one day, I just know it." She blushed at my words but I saw a longing in her eyes. She wanted this, a family with a loving man beside her.
"We'll see. Kakashi's gone out with the guys by the way. I thought I'd stay and spend some time with you instead." She informed me, sitting down on the sofa and I joined her, being careful not to jog Yuki.
"Ah, thank you Kurenai."
"You deserve this ya know." She sighed with a smile.
"Huh?" I frowned confused.
"You've been through so much in the past and so has Kakashi with his father. You both deserve this happiness and seeing you with Yuki only encourages me to think this. You may have had a rough start, but you're a great mother and a strong shinobi. I'm happy for you." My heart warmed at her words and I felt touched.
"It means so much hearing that from you Kurenai. You deserve this as well you know? You'll get this happiness I can just feel it. Then we'll both be trying to keep our kids under control." I held her hand and get it a squeeze in comfort and as a thank you for her sweet words. She smiled in return before we began chatting and having a laugh. I'd missed this.Hours went by as we talked and laughed, before Kurenai had to head on home as she had a mission with her team tomorrow. Kakashi had come back from spending time with the guys and he was having a shower while I put Yuki to bed in her cute little sky blue crib. As she slept, I made my way out of the room and to my own bed. Once I was in just my bra and my shorts, I jumped into bed and curled up, waiting for Kakashi to be done with his shower. I didn't have to wait long as he stepped out of the bathroom and got into bed with me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me to his chest.
"Goodnight Katsu." He whispered into my ear, kissing my neck softly.
"Goodnight." I replied just as quietly, closing my eyes and going to sleep feeling perfectly happy and at peace with how my life was right now.
That's where I'm going to end it I'm afraid my dears. I'm not sure where to go from here and think that this happy ending is a good time to end it. I hope you've sincerely enjoyed the story and that you're all doing well. Thank you for the support and I hope you continue to like the rest of my stories :) x
