Suddenly, Kacie was tackled to the floor by a tall boy in a black leather jacket. I saw him swing his fists at her as she screamed loudly.
I jumped and pushed Stone off of her as quick as I could, but the damage was already done. I held Stone down and glanced over at Kacie, people were rushing over to her quickly.
She was sobbing, blood streaming down from her nose.
"Stone!" I cried out, "What the hell was that?"
He chuckled from under me, "I told you not to talk to other girls. I guess you can't even listen to save the ones you love, you're pathetic."
Tears filled my eyes and swung my fists, hitting Stone right in the throat, "I hate you!" I screamed out, "She didn't deserve this!"
I was sitting in the principals office, Stone next to me. His neck was bruised and he was lucky I didn't do any permanent damage to him. I avoided his eye contact, anger boiled in my blood.
How could he do that to an innocent girl?
Kacie was in the nurse's office, and we were told that it wasn't too bad. Her nose wasn't broken, Stone hadn't hit her hard enough to really hurt her. She had a little nose bleed and she was still really confused of why Stone did what he did, and I really wanted to explain it to her but I couldn't.
The door swung open, and the principal stood there.
"Good afternoon, boys," he mumbled, walking over to his desk.
"Good afternoon," Stone muttered, looking down at feet.
"I see that you guys got into a little fight, is that correct?"
I nodded slowly. "He punched an innocent girl, of course I was going to defend her. I did nothing wrong here," I pleaded my case.
"Ah, but you still did hit someone, Cyle. You could have defended her in other ways.." The principal scribbled something down on a piece of paper.
"I guess I could have, but.. but.."
It was two hours later, I was home, texting Kacie. I had gotten three days of suspension and Stone had gotten two weeks. They gave me a shorter time because I was defending someone.
3:42 PM, Kacie: Thank you for defending me, Cyle.
3:42 PM, Cyle: It was nothing, I wasn't going to let him attack you like that.
3:43 PM, Kacie: Cyle?
3:43 PM, Cyle: Yeah?
3:44 PM, Kacie: What were you going to say to me before Stone tackled me?
3:44 PM, Cyle: Well...
3:45 PM, Kacie: You don't have to tell me if you don't want to.
3:45 PM, Cyle: I think I should do it in person. I'll tell you next week, if that's okay with you.
3:46 PM, Kacie: Of course it's fine with me. It's your choice.
3:46 PM, Cyle: Thanks. So.. what was the whole frog thing?
3:47 PM: Kacie: Oh, LOL. Uh, it's an inside joke.. Frogcyle.
3:47 PM, Cyle: Mhm.
3:47 PM, Kacie: Cyle, I really like you and I think I'm going to regret saying that but I just thought you should hear the truth because I really like you!
3:48 PM, Cyle: I like you, too.
I was really happy for the rest of the day, until the doorbell rang and my mom called for me.
"Cyle! You have a visitor!" She shouted as she was cooking dinner.
I raced down-stairs, hoping it would be Kacie. I looked over at the dining table, and instead of Kacie sitting there, it was Stone. He grinned at me, "Hey, Cyle. Can we talk?"
SORRY I MADE YOU GET ATTACKED BY STONE, KACIE!
