Jane
The shower I took didn't help relax me any, my body was completely frazzled and anxious after this morning event with River. All I could think about was the memory of his hands against my skin, his lips against mine. It was hard to get the thoughts out of my head. Sitting at the breakfast table was even worried, I couldn't focus on anything anyone was saying. My bottom lip was swollen because I was chewing it raw, when I would glance at River who seemed to just keep his eyes on his plate. I would feel my ears burst into flames and I would have to look away before someone notices.
The day was long leading up to the party, everything was in a fast forwarded as I was lost in my memories. River was nowhere to be seen, I asked my mother where he was once which was a mistake. She went off her rocker and made me sit and lesson to "the talk" which was a new whole level of embarrassment of her walking in on us this morning. I wasn't even sure I wanted to go that far just yet. Slapping myself, I was an idiot, I knew very well if my mother hadn't come in I would have. Right now I wasn't as sure though.
When we finally arrived at the ballroom where my party was being held, I went to my private room to wait for the makeup and hair people to arrive. I looked at my dress that had been delivered here and smiled. It was a black and silver full length gown and had some volume in the skirt, but not overbearing princess gown style. The top was a lace up correct with a silk black ribbon to lace up. The correct was covered in Swarovski crystals that made it appear the top was silver and continued down over the skirt but there was less the closer the skirt got to the floor, giving it a sliver and black ombre effect. I started chewing my lip think about the River, if he was going to like it, what he was going to be wearing, what if he didn't like it.
"So you want to just spill your secret or am I going to have to force it out of you" I heard a voice say close to me, pulling me out of my day dream about River
"What?" I said turning around as Tiffany unzipped her dress that was hanging next to mine
"Don't even try to play dumb with me Jane, I've known you for how many years, you are hiding something big, you chew your lip raw when you do" She said crossing her arms as I covered my mouth
"I do not" I said as turned away and looked in the mirror my lip was swollen and red"I singed She was right
"Not to mention that I've been with you for the last hour, and you haven't he acknowledge I was talking to you, sitting next to you in the car, or that I hugged you and said I had a present for you" she said with a smug look on her face.
"You were here for an hour" I said, confused
"Yes you have been so wrapped up in your little head with whatever you are thinking about you didn't even notice, plus I just told you again, I had your present and didn't even bat an eye" she said, picking up a small box on chair "still not even excited, so you're not getting this until you spill your little guts" she said as I walked over to the couch and clasped
"Tiffany" I said in an exhausted voice as she sat next to me "something happened this morning" as she moved a bit closer
"What? Was it a bad something or good something? What" she said was over dramatic as I smiled
"I think a good something" I said she squealed "
"spill or i'll kill you" she said as I bit my lip
"well it started last night when River came into my room and gave me a present" I said, as Tiffany nodded with big eyes waiting " he gave me this sweetest bracelet, it's not anything special but I almost cried when I saw it" I lifted my wrist and showed her the little bracelet with a heart, she looked at it
