Emergency services arrived to the scene in minutes, but to Ash and friends, it felt like it'd been hours.
Dawn and Shauna were both put on stretchers and taken into the ambulance. The ambulance left with loud sirens and flashing lights, to take the girls into emergency.
Paul was under arrest for the murder of Misty, but was going to get multiple charges as Ash told police everything Paul had done to Dawn.
With the body of Misty being found, Paul's house turned into a crime scene. The group had to answer many questions some officers and detectives had asked, but were eventually able to leave.
The first place Ash, May, Brendan, Serena and Clemont stopped at, was the Pokemon centre, to get Bonnie. The younger girl was excited to hear of their adventures and that everything went fine, but was soon saddened when she found out that Dawn and Shauna were rushed to hospital.
The group then rushed to the hospital, where they'd wait for answers on how their friends are going. They sat in the waiting room, where they anxiously waited for any news. Buneary was sitting with her head down, trying not to cry, worried as Pikachu sat beside her, trying to comfort her. Piplup, who'd been released from his Pokeball, was sobbing as Togekiss hugged him, the bird also trying not to cry. Ivysaur was crying as well, Blaziken and Sceptile tried to comfort him.
Ash watched the Pokemon, keeping his head down as well. He hoped with every part of him, that Dawn would pull through. She deserved to live a worry free life now that Paul would be behind bars. She deserved to know that by escaping and sharing her story, Paul was going to be imprisoned. Dawn didn't have to worry anymore.
Serena also has her head hung low, as she hoped Shauna would also pull through. It hurt her to think that the last proper conversation they had, they'd argued as Serena used Shauna.
A couple hours had passed before the group received word that a pulse was found on both Shauna and Dawn, but they were still unconscious. Another couple of hours passed and they'd heard no new news.
"Ash.." Serena spoke up in a soft voice. "Yeah Sere?" The boy asked drowsily, and he'd nearly fallen asleep. "Can we talk about something?" Serena asked. Ash blinked, sitting upright, "Sure.. but we should probably get out of here." Ash admitted.
"Yeah.." Serena sweatdropped, knowing this isn't the place she wanted to talk to Ash about certain things, in. The pair got up and left, letting everyone know they'd be back soon.
They took the elevator down to the bottom floor and then went outside. It surprisingly felt warm outside, to the trainer's delight.
"I have to talk to you about something too.." Ash confessed, as they started walking around. "I feel like we're both about to say something similar." Serena confessed, with a laugh.
"Well, I have an idea." Ash grinned. "Do tell." Serena laughed nervously. "Why don't we briefly say what we're going to say, at the same time." Ash admitted, which caused Serena to laugh. "That's so childish.. but you know what, let's do that." She decided.
The pair faced each other nervously, Serena looking at Ash as she bit her lip, and Ash scratching the back of his head, nervous for what Serena's reaction would be to what he was about to tell her.
"I'm in love with Dawn." "I have feelings for Shauna."
The pair's eyes then widened as they looked at eachother, "Wait, really?!" Ash asked, surprised. "Yeah." Serena blushed lightly. "I guess I've always felt a certain way towards Shauna.. even back when we were first friends in high school.. but I didn't know what the feeling was. I definitely didn't think it was love.. I always thought I was straight." She confessed. "I guess I didn't realise what those feelings were until.. She got shot and I thought there was a chance I may never see her again. I realised that Shauna means so much to me and.. I do like her a lot." Serena admitted. "Well.. I'm definitely happy for you." Ash smiled, causing Serena to smile.
"And you! You finally admit that you love Dawn." Serena grinned, teasingly. "Yeah.. I do love Dawn.. I love her so much.. I can't wait to tell her when she wakes up." He blushed, "But I also really cant wait to tell her that she doesn't have to worry anymore, and that Paul's going to jail." He admitted. "I'm sure she'll be so relieved." Serena replied. "It just really sucks about Misty though.." She sighed. "It does.. I still can't believe it.." Ash sighed heavily, looking down. He was still trying to process that he was never going to see Misty again..
After walking in silence for a couple of minutes, Serena looked up at Ash. "So I guess we're not together anymore?" She asked, as Ash shook his head, "I guess not..." He then chuckled. "Regardless of how I feel now.. I don't regret our relationship." Ash confessed, giving Serena a smile. Serena smiled back, "I don't either.. we had some really good times together.. and some amazing memories." The girl admitted.
Ash smiled brightly, before stepping forward to hug Serena. The girl laughed, before she hugged him back. After a couple moments, they pulled away from eachother, "Let's head back." Serena decided, hoping they'd find out some good news. "Yeah, let's go." Ash agreed, as the pair walked back towards the hospital.

Serena and Ash entered the waiting room again, where they found May, Brendan, Clemont and Bonnie.
"A nurse will be here in five minutes with news for us!" Bonnie boomed, as Ash and Serena sat down. "Really?!" Serena asked, relieved. "Oh thank god." Ash blurted, also relieved to hear that.
A few minutes had passed and a male nurse approached the group in the waiting room. "Hello! I've come to deliver some news, that both Shauna and Dawn are alive, their hearts are beating." He smiled, causing everyone to let out a sigh of relief.
"Shauna is currently conscious but Dawn is still unconscious, regardless of her heartbeat." He admitted, causing Ash to blink in surprise, "Is she.. asleep?" He asked. "We think she might be in a comatose state." The nurse confessed. "Oh.." Ash trailed off, wondering how long that could last. "But it's too early to detect." The nurse said, staying optimistic.
"Shauna can't have any visitors just yet, but we'll let you know when people are allowed in." The nurse declared. He was thanked by Clemont before he left. Serena let out a smile, feel so relieved that Shauna was alive. She had so much she wanted to say to her.. but she knew the brunette would need time.

The group entered the hospital room where they found Shauna in a hospital bed.
"Hey guys!" She chimed, in a cheerful mood. "Shauna!!" Bonnie boomed, racing over to hug the girl. "Hey Bonnie." Shauna laughed, hugging the smaller girl.
Everyone crowded around the bed, saying how relieved they were that she was okay. "I was really lucky.. I lost a lot of blood but the hospital did an amazing job to save me." She said cheerfully.
"How are you feeling?" Serena asked. "I feel good, a bit sore. I have stitches where I was shot, so hopefully it'll heal quickly. I should be fine to leave tomorrow afternoon, they just want to keep me overnight incase anything happens." Shauna admitted.
Bonnie leant over to give Shauna another hug, Shauna giggled as she hugged the girl back. "I'm so relieved you're okay." Clemont admitted, as he'd been worried. Shauna just laughed, "There's nothing to worry about Clemont - I'm not going anywhere silly~"
The group stayed with Shauna for about an hour, until they could tell she was growing tired. They left and decided to book a hotel room for the night, and would come back to the hospital the next day.
Ash's head was clouded as they walked, as relieved as he was for Shauna, all he could think about was Dawn. He was really worried because she was still unconscious.. he tried to stay optimistic, and hoped that when they returned to the hospital in the morning, Dawn would be awake and waiting for them.
