One Month Later
Ash focused on the road, as he was driving to Jubilife city from Oreburgh city. Oreburgh city was where Ash lived, with his family.
Ash was driving to meet with Johanna and May again. Days had gone by and Dawn still hadn't woken up, she was declared to be in a comatose state. Dawn had then been transported to Jubilife city hospital, and Ash, Johanna and May had visited the hospital every night, hoping to hear the news that Dawn was awake at last.. hoping to be there when she would wake up.
A lot had happened in four weeks, Paul was sent to jail, though the amount of time was still being decided. Along with that, he had multiple charges for the abuse towards Dawn and Misty, that was clearly shown on her autopsy.
The day of Misty's funeral had also passed, which was a heartbreaking day for all. All of Misty's immediate family had shown up, and were devastated and miserable.. her sisters that had given her a hard time growing up, were struggling with grief. That day really hit Ash, May and friends that Misty was really dead and never coming back..
Currently Ash had his phone on speaker, as he was on a call with Serena. After a week of Dawn being in a coma, Serena, Shauna, Clemont and Bonnie decided to head back to Kalos. They couldn't afford to stay in Sinnoh any longer, but had been in contact with Ash and May for updates on how Dawn was doing. Brendan tried to visit the hospital as much as he could, but was back to work as soon as they returned.
"We were called this afternoon and told there's some good news.. but we won't find out until we reach the hospital." Ash explained, "That's great!!" Serena boomed. "I really hope Dawn's finally awake.. I miss her so much." He sighed. "Maybe you should treat her as Sleeping Beauty." Serena suggested teasingly, causing Ash to raise an eyebrow, "What do you mean?" He asked. "Maybe she needs a true loves kiss to wake her up." Serena grinned, causing Ash to blush. "Yeah I'm not so sure about that.. we aren't exactly living in a fairytale." Ash admitted embarrassed, which caused Serena to laugh.
"Speaking of true love.. how is Shauna?" Ash asked, now being the one to tease. "She's.. she's great." Serena answered, blushing. "At the beginning of our journey we had a big conversation about how I'd been treating her since we'd originally drifted apart, and I realised how wrong I was and I apologised for everything. Since then we've been travelling together through Kalos and performing! I have my second performance tomorrow." Serena admitted, proudly. "That's awesome Serena!" Ash smiled.
"Are you and Shauna.. together?" He then asked. "Yeah, we are." Serena admitted, blushing lightly. "We been travelling together for nearly four weeks.. but we started dating a week ago." Serena explained. "Aww congrats!! I'm so happy for you both." Ash smiled. "Thanks! Being with Shauna has so far been amazing.." Serena confessed. "That's really good to hear." Ash smiled.
He parked his car, as he'd reached the hospital. "I've gotta go Serena, but i'll talk to you later." Ash insisted. "Alright, bye Ash!" Serena said, before hanging up. The boy then got out of the car and locked it, before he headed towards the hospital entrance.

He stepped out of the elevator and walked over to the waiting room, at a quick pace, where he found May and Johanna. "Hey guys." He greeted. "Hey Ash." They both replied, seeming cheerful.
"Have they told you guys the good news yet?" Ash asked as they both shook their heads. "They wanted to wait for you to be here too." May admitted, looking excited. "I really hope Dawn is finally awake and okay." Johanna admitted, sounding hopeful.
A nurse quickly came over, a big smile on her face. "You three will be pleased to know that Dawn is awake!" She said with a cheerful tone. "YES!" May squeaked, excited to see her best friend again. Johanna teared up, relieved. "Thank you, nurse." She said softly. A big smile was brought upon Ash's face too, feeling a huge wave of relief wash over him. He couldn't wait to see her again.
"You may see her now, follow me!" The nurse added, as she went to lead them to Dawn's room. The trio followed along, all giving eachother smiles as they couldn't wait to see Dawn again.
The nurse lead them through a small corridor, containing four rooms. She stopped at the very end room, and opened the door. The group entered the room, to see Dawn awake, sitting upright in her bed as she spoke to another nurse who stood beside her bed.
"Dawn, you have some visitors here to see you." The cheerful nurse smiled, as Johanna, May and Ash stepped into the room. That nurse then left behind them.
The trio walked over to the bed, as Dawn looked at each of them, not saying anything. "Dawn.. I'm so happy you're awake!" Johanna admitted, quickly pulling her daughter into a hug.
"Aw.. that's very sweet.." Dawn admitted, hugging back, though something seemed off about her response, almost like she had a bit of a confused tone in her voice. Ash and May gave eachother a smile, before they looked back to Johanna and Dawn. They were both ready to hug her tightly and tell her the good news about Paul.
Johanna then pulled away, motioning her hands to May and Ash. "The three of us have been coming here every night, waiting for you to wake up. We knew you'd pull through, you're so strong." Johanna gave her daughter a smile.
Dawn gave Johanna an awkward smile before she studied the trio individually. She then bit her lip and said,
"That's really kind of you guys.. but I have no idea who any of you are.."
