18. The Purple Haired Man

A couple of days later

It had really being playing on Ash's mind, that Dawn remembered who Paul was. Out of all of the things she could remember.. why did she have to remember her abuser? The drive home from Jubilife city, had been awkward between the pair.

Flashback

"Who is the purple haired man? Did we go to highschool together?" Dawn asked. Ash focused on the road as they'd started driving back to Twinleaf town. "Ash? Who is he? Why do I remember him.. threatening the ones I love.. so I'd live with him?" She asked.

"Ash!?" Dawn growled, sick of being ignored. Ash furrowed his eyebrows, before he finally spoke. "It doesn't matter who he is anymore, he's out of your life now." Ash admitted. "Who?" Dawn asked.

Ash sighed, dodging the question. He told Johanna he would keep Paul out of it, as she'd asked. Eventually they got to Twinleaf town and Dawn got out of the car, feeling quite frustrated. She wanted to know her past, but felt like the ones she love were trying to hide something big from her.

Ash slipped on his cap, before Pikachu climbed onto his shoulder. "Pika!" The mouse chimed. "Today our friends from Kalos are coming to visit!" Ash explained to his partner, who cheered.

The group had decided to meet at his home in Oreburgh city, so he'd quickly gotten to it and started to clean his room before he went downstairs and made sure the kitchen was clean.

His Mum had left them some food and snacks, before heading off to work. "Mum is the best.." Ash thought, with a smile as he looked at all of the delicious snacks Delia had gotten for him and his friends.

"Pika!!" Pikachu cheered, seeing Dawn's car park in the driveway. The raven haired boy smiled, happy the girl had decided to come along.. considering they'd left on a bit of a bad note after they previously hung out.

Dawn entered the home, with Piplup and Buneary by her side. "Hey Ash!" Dawn smiled. "Hey Dawn!" Ash smiled back. "Buneary!" The rabbit Pokemon boomed, before racing up to Pikachu and embracing him in a hug. "They're so sweet.." Dawn giggled, looking at the two Pokemon. "Piplup." The penguin huffed, saying they were too lovey-dovey for his liking.

"Can I get you anything to drink, while we wait for our friends?" Ash asked. "No thank you, waiter." Dawn grinned, teasingly before she took a seat on Ash's couch. "I hope I'll remember them.. but I don't have high hopes that I will.." The girl sighed. Ash took a seat on his couch beside Dawn, once pouring himself a glass of soda. "We'll see! We don't know for sure yet." Ash said, trying to be hopeful.

About fifteen minutes passed until the Kalos group arrived. Excitedly, Clemont, Bonnie, Serena and Shauna entered Ash's home. "Hey guys! It's awesome to see you again!" Ash boomed, excited as he raced over to greet his guests. Dawn just looked at the new guests, examining them.

"Ash!" Bonnie boomed, racing over to hug him. Ash hugged the small girl back, chuckling. He then looked up at Clemont, Serena and Shauna with a smile. Dawn stood up and walked over to the group, where Serena was the first to greet her.

"Dawn! It's nice to see you again!" She boomed, before embracing the girl in a hug. "It's uh.. nice to see you too.." Dawn, sounding a little unsure as she couldn't remember the blonde haired girl. Serena pulled away, "Do you really not remember me?" Serena asked, "We had our fair share of petty arguments." She laughed. Dawn shook her head, "I don't remember who you are." Shauna took a step forward, standing by Serena now as she took her hand, "Ash wasn't lying.." She sighed, hoping it wasn't true that Dawn had amnesia.
