Victims

Josh's P.O.V.

I woke up with a back ache realizing what had happened last night. Simon and I went to the rock. There is something different about him. He is special. Different then anyone else.

At first I thought that he would be like anyone else that I meet. I would hook up with them and that would be it, but he is different.

You may be wondering why am I like this? Why do I just hook up with people whenever I feel like it.

Well it is because, my mom sucks. She was never really a mother to me. When my dad died, my mom became a humongous mess. She wouldn't leave her room, she would drink and she didn't help me with anything.

Then I thought she was changing. We had a good life for once. That only lasted about two months. She met a man, she quit drinking, she got a job, and best of all she started to care for me.

Then that guy broke up with her, for a younger more beautiful lady. My mom was heart broken. That is when she put on an act. She put on a lot of make up and she started to hook up with guy, after guy, after guy.

By then I realized that I had lost my mom and I had given up on her. That is when I became what I was most afraid of. I became my mom.

Maybe Simon can make me better. Maybe Simon is my guardian angel.

I then heard the stupid horn go off.

I then heard a thud and saw Ethan and Simon on the ground.

Tobi and I started to laugh. Once Tobi realized I was laughing with him, he stopped and went down to help Ethan.

I stopped laughing and helped Simon out.

It then ended up me falling on top of Simon.

"Oh sorry." I said as I tried to get up.

I felt heat start to rise up my face. His face was totally red.

I then finally got up and pulled him up, making us fall into the bed.

"Okay, this is now just completely awkward. Are you doing this on purpose?" He said looking at me with a smile as he went up.

"Yeah, I just want you all over me." I said joking.

We both laughed and then Tobi grabbed Simon.

"Come on. Let's go get changed." Tobi said as he gave me a death glare.

I just smiled and looked down.

Why am I so stupid?

I got changed and head to the cafeteria to get breakfast.

As I went in I saw Simon sitting with Ethan, Tobi and another boy that I didn't know.

I saw Simon wave me over but I could see behind him, Tobi glaring.

I want to go sit over there. I really do, but I can't.

I then looked over to see the same guys that are always at camp with me.

I sat down with them all and JJ and I hugged as we saw each other.

It was me, JJ, the Cals, and Harry. I normally always sat with them. Every year we would come and every year we would have the same reputation. The bad ass. I hated the reputation, I don't want to be a bad ass. I don't want to hook up with a bunch of girls and never talk to them again. But it is who I have become and I think that I what kills me on the inside.

The guys kept talking, but all I could think about was Simon. I looked over to see him staring. He just gave me a disappointed look and then looked at everyone at his table. I could feel my heart break in half.

"Earth to Josh, JOSH!" I hear Callux yell.

We normally call him Callux because it is confusing being friends with two Cals. It just makes our life easier.

"What are you looking at? A new victim?" JJ said looking at me with his odd grin.

"Why do you have to call then victims? Why do we have to do this every year? Why can't we just be like everyone else and enjoy camp?" I asked as they all just stared at me.

"Are you........serious?" Cal said looking at me.

"Maybe Josh is right. Maybe we should stop. Move on." Harry said agreeing with me.

"Don't fucking kiss his ass. If that is what you two want to do, go ahead. But once it gets boring don't be coming back to us." JJ said as he gave us the stare.

"Anyway, you know what happens to the guy that doesn't follow through." Callux whispered.

Every year we lay bets. To see who can hook up with one person the longest. Whoever doesn't hear the person who they chose to hook up with say I love you they have to jump into the pond. Naked, butt naked.

"Fine." Harry and I said in unison.

I wonder why Harry is acting like me? Does he like someone too?

I then saw him look over at Simon's table. Who does he like? It's not Simon, nor Tobi or Ethan. It is the other boy?

"Okay, that settles it then. It is time to pick our victims." JJ said looking at us with he devious face.

"I say, we prey on the newbies." JJ said looking at Simon's table.

No?! Not Simon. Please not Simon. Please.

I crossed my fingers hoping that he wouldn't say Simon. Hoping that he would say 'Josh you are assigned to the boy in maroon who has dirty blonde hair' please don't say it. Please don't say it.

"Josh-"

A/N: so yeah now you know the whole thing with Josh and who he is. Pretty sad actually. But you know. It wouldn't be a story with everyone leaving happily ever after. Am I right? Yeah I'll stop.
