Go out and have fun they say.

What could go wrong they say?

Could it be the possibility of having steaming hot coffee being dumped on your best friend’s expensive clothes, that she had no idea that you were wearing, in front of many different strangers?

Yes.

Sarah believed the possibility was extremely high.

This was exactly why she did not go out in public.

She did everything in her power to beg the God or whatever was in control of this world to make her invisible.

With a shaky hand, she used napkins to dry herself off, trying to ignore the hot liquid that was burning her leg. “Ma’am, I am extremely sorry.” She heard, finding the courage to slowly look up at the man who was holding a pile of napkins. If standing in front of strangers was bad with coffee all on you was bad enough, try having the person that spilled it on you being absolutely gorgeous. Her eyes widened slightly, her cheeks even redder if possible.

The man was probably a few years older than her, with sandy brown hair that looked like he ran his fingers through it all the time, eyes that are a beautiful hazel color, tall, tan, and wearing what to her looked like a very expensive suit. Throw in a slight British accent in that mix, and you have Mr. Perfect. Well, perfect to the eye and ear. She didn’t realize she was staring until he spoke again. “Ma’am?”

“O-Oh! Y-Yeah, i-it’s fine. It’s fine.” She said quickly as she took a couple more napkins from him and continued to clean herself off. “It’s my fault. I wasn’t paying attention at all.” She avoided eye contact from anyone that was looking at her and she put the used napkins in her empty coffee cup and she took her phone and purse from the table. “D-Don’t worry about it.” She said quickly while slipping away from him, nearly falling on her face as one of the heels kind of slipped from under her, but she caught herself when she grabbed the door and pushed it open.

Never has she ever been so embarrassed before.

Wait, that was a lie. There was that one time when she started her period in the middle of class and didn’t realize it and stood up in front of everyone. Now THAT was embarrassing. But this? This was definitely on her top five most embarrassing moments. How on Earth was she going to tell Tracy she had coffee on her expensive clothes?

God she was going to kill her.

Sarah held her purse in front of her, trying to hide the mess from everyone as she made her way through the crowd, but she heard someone call behind her. “Miss!” She realized the voice was from the man, hoping if she kept walking he’d go away, but he seemed to have been a very determined man because when she looked back, she saw him trying to make his way through the crowd. She stood there, holding her purse close and  watched as others pushed by her. When the guy managed to catch up, he fixed his tie and held his brief case in hand.

“Really, you don’t have to be sorry.” She said, not really looking at him. She wanted to just forget about it and go home.

“At least let me pay for your dry cleaning.” He huffed, pushing strands of hair from his eyes.

Sarah was taken back by his offer, looking at him right in the eye for a brief moment before shaking her head. “N-No, I couldn’t let you do that. I really need to get home.” She said, before turning to walk away, but stopped because she realized she had no idea which way to go. In this big city, every building looked the same and every street sign was as confusing as the next.

“At least let me drive you home?” She heard, looking back at him. His face was filled with sincere, and really did look like he was trying to make it up to her, but she just shook her head once more.
