Sarah woke up but just continued to lay there in her bed. The sun flooding passed the white curtains and lit up her room. She held the pillow close and just stared at the wall, thinking about last night and really hoped she’ll get a call from the police soon, telling her that they found Tracy alive and well. Her eyes went to her phone that rested on the table by the bed, willing for it to ring but nothing. She had spoken to Tracy’s parents last night, and they told her they will be in town in a couple days. It was also nice to know that they didn’t blame her for the disappearance of their child, because deep down Sarah felt guilty for leaving her alone on a Sunday night despite whether she should be or not.
She felt something walk along the bed and looked over, seeing Tails walking up to her and put her front paws on her arm, letting out a small meow. Sarah reached and ran her fingers through her white fur. She sighed and threw the covers off, she picked her up and held her as she wondered out of her room and downstairs. Her eyes darted around, trying to find Clay but she couldn’t hear or see him. She went into the kitchen, seeing coffee had been made with a note in front of the coffee maker. She sat Tails down on the ground and went over, seeing the note.
I didn’t want to wake you, but I left for work. I should be home around dinner time. Make yourself at home, and try to relax. :)
-Clay
Sarah smiled to herself, slowly putting the note down and fed Tails before making herself some coffee. While working on making toast, she heard the doorbell ring, and she went over and slowly went over to peak out the window, seeing a dark gray car outside of the gate. Sarah narrowed her eyes, looking around at the door area and saw a small box on the wall. She walked over and studied it. “Hello?” She heard a male‘s voice, jumping a little.
She saw the ‘speaker’ button and pushed it, “Yes?”
“Is this Sarah Meadows?”
“Y-Yes?”
“This is officer Andrew Capello. We spoke last night. Can we talk?”
Sarah fixed her hair, not exactly looking guest ready. She licked her lips and pushed the button again. “A-Alright. Give me a minute to figure out how to open the gate.” She said, before scanning the small device, before finally seeing the right one and pushing it. She looked out the window and watched as the car drive in, and she hurried up the steps to grab her robe and threw it on, and just as she got downstairs, she hurried to open the door.
Andrew stood there in his leather jacket, a black shirt that showed off his abs, sunglasses that hid his face. His five o’clock shadow adding a special touch to his bad boy look. Sarah felt the back of her neck heat up. He took his sunglasses off, showing his golden brown eyes. “May I come in?”
“O-Of course.” She stepped to the side, letting him in. Tails again not liking him being there and hissed at him before running up the steps to hide. Sarah narrowed her eyes at how she was acting, but said nothing and closed the door once he was in. “Have you heard anything?”
Andrew tucked the sunglasses into his breast pocket, looking around as he stood by the bottom of the steps, looking back at her. “We haven’t heard anything about Tracy, no. But last night we found a dead body of a teenage boy.”
Sarah’s eyes widened. “W-What? That’s terrible.”
“Yes...” He looked over at him, “I believe you’ve met him.”
Sarah tilted her head, “I have?”
Andrew nodded, moving into the living room, Sarah following and watching as he studied the photos on the walls. “The night you were attacked by a group of boys?” He peaked back at her. “I spoke to the boy’s friends and asked them if they have had any bad run ins with anyone. They confessed and said they tried to attack you, only to have some guy breaking it up.”
