Brick POV

"What the h-

"Don't take your eyes off me!" Jean yelled "You'll end up like your brothers!"

"Bastard," I growled

Jean was unnaturally fast. Unnaturally strong. I shouldn't be losing this fight, I scored second to Butch in hand-to-hand combat. Well, this is hand-to-knife combat. I know one thing, he has to protect that capsule.

I blocked his fist coming for me and went for a punch in the stomach, before a realized he grabbed my arm and swung me back. His knife to my neck, I was only thing keeping him from slitting my throat.

"There's something I don't understand," he said almost monotone. "You have three brothers. You aren't related, you fight all the time, and yet. You claim to love them?"

"That's how family works!"

"Family? I grew up around thousands of monsters. I remember Gnomey, gnome-ly..however you said it. He was powerful, almost brought an entire village to his bidding, 2000 years later the same with a city. You would never see me take a fall for him! I rather watch him strangled by the very roses he always carried!"

I kicked Jean off of me and watch him tremble back against the capsules. Without wasting anytime I charged at Jean and uppercut him. His jaw flew back and was limping by the capsules.

"Damn human body. No matter what huh? You can increase its strength by ten- twenty men! And it'll still fall short." HIM voices spoke through deadpanned

"You know," I replied it a much grimmer tone than his. "If you stay like this. I'll get to punch Jean's face all day long. I know you wouldn't care whether he dies or not."

"I expect this from the green one but not you," Jean's voice came back as he wiped his mouth.

I was dead tired by now. I didn't want to say but probably close to death. I could still see Kaoru struggling to hold onto Butch and Usagi. Everyone had disappeared. It was dead silent.

Are you going to fight or give up?

At this point, I didn't know the answer. I heard a small step and knew the answer instantly.

Charging at Jean I kept on punching him till he choose to stay down. His strength gone. His speed gone. Punches flown till he finally stayed down. His lip busted, and face swollen. I wasn't sure if he was dead. I made my way to the end of the platform-

"STOP!" Kaoru yelled

"What.."

"It's unstable!" she yelled again. "I can't let them fall. Usa can't stand. Butch won't wake up. I can't let go Brick. We'll all fall."

"Kaoru, I need you to trust me. Let go of them."

"Wha? What! N-No! I can't let them fall!"

"Kaoru you'll be okay-"

"Don't tell me that bull! Butch told me that, and now look at us!"

I sighed "Well I'm not Butch. That's mean I'm a lot smarter than him, just forgive when this is over."

"What do you mean?"

I stepped onto the platform, I knew she wouldn't let them go. This is my only other option.

"Brick? Stop."

"I'm sorry..."

"Stop it now." I took another step.

"Stop it, please!" and another

"BRICK STOP IT NOW!" the platform finally gave out. I waited for the impact and it didn't come, of course. Snow, she's like snow. Whether I was speaking of Momoko or Beez..

I walked back over to the edge and took the knife out of Jean's hand. I stabbed the glass over and over till it caved in on itself. Sitting inside was that creepy, HIM doll. Jean started back at me, his eyes barely open. Not an expression on his face.

"It was such a beautiful day today." I said not looking at him or the doll. "I can only imagine where you should be.." The doll burned in my hand. "You should be dead."

I turned around, ready to leave and he laughs.
