Aiko POV
"Just be careful," Simon told me holding my jacket and bag. His face was full of worry.
"I will." I replied as Boomer held the air vent open. He gave a small worried smile and I slipped into the vents. I dropped straight down and fell on my butt. "Ow." Bitterly I cursed at the sight of the staircase placed next to me, leading to the boarded up door.
"Are you in Ai-Chan" Miyako called out.
"Yes I am." I yelled back as a flashlight dropped down and I caught it. I flicked it on and it shined dimly in the dark room. I walked around stepping on crumpled papers and broken glass. In the middle of the room was a big table littered in paper, folders and documents.
In the corner was an old container, dusty with the words, RRBZ 4 engraved on it. Looking back at the documents, some of them were all ruined, spilled on, or faded. It's only been four years, how can this stuff look so old?
"Ai-Chan!" Boomer yelled "Did you find anything?"
"Just a bunch of papers! One has picture of the capsule thing on it!" I called back
"Bring as many as you can carry!" He yelled back
"Okay!" I replied slipping the papers in a folder. That's when I heard a bottle move from the corner. Fear flashed in me as I made my way toward the vent. A large bang and something was running for me!
"AHHH!" I yelled but it was only a dirty rat that scurried in fear of my screams.
"MAKA!" Simon yelled
"It's a rat," I breathed out "Just a rat."
I thought it was another running past my foot, I look down in horror. A deformed hand attached itself to my foot. Attached to the hand was a deformed half if a body. I screamed dropping my flashlight revealing the other deformed bodies crawling towards me.
"MAKA! Get out of there!"
I snatched my leg back and ran towards the vent. "Boomer! Open it! Get me out!" I screamed
"It's stuck!" he yelled back as the bodies came for me.
"Boomer please!" I yelled
"Aiko I'm trying!"
They were closing in on me and I ran for the stairs. I pressed my back against the wall. "Boomer please! I don't want to die here!" I said crying now. I was screaming and crying and the bodies only closed on me. I could feel the bare cold hand on my leg. "GET OFF ME!"
"AIKO!" I heard a scream and saw Miyako's bubble wand from the ceiling. I quickly jumped on it and hung on till I was out of the vent. Almost instantly I dropped the papers and hugged the first person I could. That forced me and them back and they tripped over. I was still crying my eyes out and the person held me tight. "You're okay, Maka."
I nodded slowly and Simon let out a deep breath. "Good."
"I'm sorry Aiko," Boomer said
"It's fine," I replied "It was stuck, anyway. I got the document though." Looking at Miyako already going the folder."
I could hear groaning and growls from below up. "What the hell are those things." Boomer scoffed
"Deformed," I looked down at them all cradling around the flashlight. "That's probably the first time they've seen light." Thinking I might of overreacted to those creatures. I don't think they have ever seen a human being before.
"They're failed experiments of RRBZ 4," Miyako read a loud. "I have found in my discovery that black Z-rays alone have negative side effects on the artificial body."
