Chapter Five : Soul Searching

I could feel my heart beat slowing as my soul began separating from my physical self. I only meditate when I'm trying to reach the spirit world, in which I try to keep at a minimum because of the stress it puts on your body. The other downside of separating your soul from your body is that you leave your body completely free for the taking from any soul just wandering the place. Including demons.
I escaped from my body with ease and cautiousness. I couldn't feel any spirits around me but that doesn't mean they weren't present. Think of your body as crack cocaine and any soul that wants to live again, the fiend. No further explanation needed.
The spirit world is very dark, for the most part. Almost like a black void. In the first stages of the afterlife Souls embody a glowing silhouette of their former physical forms so pretty easy to spot. Ever thought about why ghost are always depicted in white? Now you know. Once the soul becomes adjusted to not having a physical form they take on their physical creatures. I know it's alot of information to take in but it had to be said sooner or later.
I left a small distance from my body to keep watch. I rarely even leave my side, let alone come this far from it so I know I'm pushing it.
The dark energy I felt earlier was still there. It was weird because I couldn't particularly see it, but I could hear it clearly. I followed the deep voice through the dark space as it called my name randomly. I had turned around to see how far I had came from my body, and it wasn't there.
Reasons I hate coming here.
I sighed and faced forward after realizing that my body could easily be taken from me or even destroyed and I'd be stuck in this form forever.
My face was met with that of a man. His posture was straight and his soulless eyes stared daggers within my own. The horns that arched from his forehead and the red, hellish aura that masked his body made it obvious to me who the voice that has been leading my soul to him.
Lucifer.
I never really thought he was real. Ma' always told me that the greatest power and only power we should be concerned about and believe in was GOD. I should've guessed it was Lucifer though. His power is so overwhelming the average person, like myself, can't feel his aura when he's close. Which also explains why that dark aura surrounds the entire forest so viciously.
He spoke no words at first. He just looked down at me with no sign of an emotion anywhere. I feared him in a way. His intimidation is far more superior to anything of this world but I have to maintain my ground. One of those random blackouts could be really helpful right now.
"It wouldn't help at all." He smirked as he finally spoke.
I took notice to his deep voice again, this time in shock. It was more inviting and warm. The heat that exerted from his soulless form was potent.
"What?"
"The blackout, super destructive, demon thing- Yeah, it wouldn't help you at all." His smugness gave me an immediate attitude.
"Try me."
Of course I knew I stood no chance against the devil himself, I thought that if I lied and pretended, maybe I could intimidate him.
"You wouldn't." He said chuckling.
"Stay out of my head." I said annoyed. I guess I know how De'Andre feels now. "What do you want? Why did you call me here?" I asked like I already knew the guy.
