Everyday Life is Changing

I got into the ambulance with Sylvie. She started driving towards the scene. Suddenly, an awful smell flew over my body and I suddenly felt light-headed. I put my head back down on my seat.

"Gabby, are you ok"

"Yeah, I guess the baby doesn't like this smell. Wow...."

"Hey, it's going to be okay. Just breath though it. Do you want me to not talk?"

"No, actually, I think it's better if we can talk through it. I, still have to tell Antonio. How do I do it?"

"Just come right out and tell him, just like you and Matt told the house. I think that it would work, and he will support you in everything you do."

"You're right. Thanks Brett."

As soon as our conversation concluded, we pulled up at the scene. It looked like a young male, smashed between the front of his car and his seat. Matt and Kelly started to work on him, and quickly got him out in less than 7 minutes. Brett and I ran over and got him on a backboard and loaded him up. We made it to the hospital and it looked like he would be ok in no time.
After we were finishing filling out the paperwork, we headed back to 51.

As I walked in the door, Matt came up to me and gave me a hug.

"Hey, you ok? Brett texted and said you didn't feel very good."

"No, I'm ok. I just got a little nauseous.

"Well, I just need you to let me know if anything is wrong."

"I know baby, and I will, but shift is almost over and I have to run over to Antonio's. I have to tell him."

"Hey, I'll come with you. WE should tell him. I want him to hear it from the both of us."

"That sounds great!"

******After Shift******

Matt and I walked out of the house hand in hand. As we got into the car Matt started talking to me.

"You ready for this?"

"Yeah, actually I am. He's my brother and I think he should know. The only thing is..."

"What? What's on your mind?"

"I was thinking about who would get the kids if anything should happen to us and I know that Antonio would be the first pick, but you know with his work schedule and his family drama, you know, what if it was Kelly? Kelly and Brett. She is my best friend and he is yours, and I kinda, maybe see some sparks fly between them?"

"Gabby, to be honest, I think that it is a great idea!"

"Good!"

We soon pulled up to the district and got out of the car. We walked into the building and asked Platt to buzz us in. She agreed contently and walked us up to Antonio.

"Hey, Tonio! Can we, uh, talk to you?

"Um, yeah? What's going on?

We walked into their break room and sat down.

"Matt, what did you do to her? You know I'm a cop and I have a gun right here.

He reached his hand into his gun holster.

"Woah, Antonio, it's not like that! Gabby, and I want to say something to you, it's uh, an announcement."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean I'm pregnant Antonio. With triplets. A boy and two girls!"

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry for jumping to conclusions. I'm so happy for you two!"

He came up to me and gave me a giant hug, and then pulled Matt into it. We sat and talked for a little bit and ended up saying goodbye and going.

When Matt and I got back to our apartment, we laid down in our bed an snuggled. Now that we had our 24 work day, we have 2 days off. 2 days full of bliss and joy. Together.
