Ben Solo

Averann found two crystals, purple, and Luke decided that she would be permitted to make a double-bladed lightsaber. Onya's did, in fact, turn out to be blue.

Poe gloated about it until Onya made him stop.

Then Luke had them learn how to assemble their sabers

Instead of sitting in their training room, they were sitting in the meeting room, the one with the skylight.

The five students sat in a circle around their master.

He watched as they assembled the sabers, a bit at a time, using the Force.

Ben focused his mind diligently on aligning his crystal. If it wasn't just right, the saber would explode as soon as it was turned on.

It took hours, and, before they had even finished it halfway, Luke made them stop. The sabers fell gently to the ground and the five looked up.

They hadn't felt the time pass, they were too focused on the task at hand. But they stood and followed Luke out to the galley.

All of them were slightly groggy from concentration.  Poe merely took some bread out of the cupboard and they all ate it.

Luke then instructed them to go to bed.

Ben walked to his barrack, and flopped onto his bed.  Despite the fact that they had been sitting all day, all of them were exhausted.

He was asleep within ten minutes.

He woke up with a start and looked around.

Ben was laying on the floor in a large hall.  He stood, and saw that he was standing in front of a judge's stand.

"Ben Solo," a voice called.

He recognized it as his mother's.

Looking up, he saw that his mother was the judge.

He started to walk forward to greet her, but found that two men had grabbed his arms and were holding him back.

Ben turned his head to see who they were, but their faces were in shadow.

"Mother?"

She descended from the stand and walked to in front of him.

"Ben Solo, you have betrayed us.  You have abandoned our cause."

"I haven't, mother!  I haven't!"

"You are no longer my son."

Leia turned her back and walked away, pulling on a hood.

Ben pulled away from the men and they let him go.  He grabbed his mother's arm and turned her around.

But instead of seeing her face, it was replaced with a wrinkled, pale white one.  The face sneered at him.

He woke up with a jolt and found himself in his bed, in the base, on Dantooine.  There on the shelf were his X-Wings, hanging from the cupboard above him was a lone sock, and sitting on the counter was a glass of water.

Ben got up shakily and walked to the glass of water.  He took a sip and walked into the small bathroom.

Ben put the glass down on the sink in the bathroom and walked out into the hall.
