The Bad Girl's Return

Chapter 5: Irony

Later today I saw Mallory. Finally, but what I saw was not very expected. Mallory was walking around with a skirt that was half showing her bum, freaking seven inch stilettos, a very see-through shirt that showed half of her flat stomach, and her face was caked up with thick make up.

What happened when I was gone? Oh, and another thing, she was walking with Vera the big queen B. Right after second period I saw them walking the halls like they owned the school. They also had some other two girls with them which looked just as slutty.

When I walked into my third period Mallory was sitting bored in the class. She held a piece of her hair in her hand as she examined it carefully. The guy beside her was texting and would sometimes look over at her. I then decided to talk to her. I mean she changed her way of dressing but surely not her kindness.

"Mallory. Hey it's me Kimberly."

She looks at me up and down before she scoffs. She twirls her hair around her finger as she chews on her gum loudly. A blond bimbo sits on her other side, I recognized her as one of the girls who walked with Mallory and Vera.

"Kimberly? Doesn't ring a bell."

"Mallory its Kim Zanders. We were bestfriend's all through middle school and elementary. Remember?"

"Oh yeah. Kimberly." She says my name as if she's disgusted.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I ask her.

"Ew just get away from me."

"Why?"

"Look Kimberly we are not friends okay, because of you I missed out on so many things. I got tired of being a nerd like you."

Vera brainwashed her, and bad. I sigh and take a seat that is empty. Mallory is now laughing at something her boyfriend said. I roll my eyes and take out my notebook. I have nobody to talk to in this class. I look around the room and my eyes meet a familiar figure. Shawn is sitting two rows away. His back is facing me so thank god he hasn't seen me. His friend is leaned over and is talking to him.

Shawn looks back at me and smirks then he turns around and tells his friend something. I ignore the dirty looks they send my way every so often. Shawn is an expert at making you feel awkward and disgusted. He is the best no one can beat him.

"So it's warm in Alaska?" The blonde girl by Mallory asks.

"No Hannah it's cold in Alaska."

"Oh isn't that where Santa Claus lives?"

"No Hannah. Any other questions?"

"Uhhh... nope not for now."

The teacher turns around mumbling something about worst job ever. As soon as the bell rung I stood up and left the room quickly. Shawn was right behind me now with his friend.

"Hey new girl!" Shawn shouts.

"What do you want?"

I can't stand looking at his face. It reminds me of what he did to me. He makes himself seem so confident but cruel at the same time.

"A bit snappy and feisty. I like it."

"A bit much annoying and rude. I hate it."

"I see you haven't forgotten what happened years ago."

So he knows it's me. Rumors do go around quickly since it is a small town. He just smirks at me as he crosses his arms. He isn't the slightest bit sorry.

"Well you haven't changed either so..."

"Why did you come back?"

"Is it any of your business? I didn't think so."

"Revenge maybe?"

"Maybe."

"If it isn't the fat nerd!"

I see Vera from the mirror in front of me. She doesn't look much different. She just got taller and is wearing clothes that expose more than in middle school. Her blonde hair reaches the middle of her back and a tad of amusement showed in her blie eyes. She wears a a pink shirt that makes her pale skin more pale. She wears alot of make up now, her lips are coated with a thick layer of light pink lip gloss.

"Vera."

"I thought you'd never come back. Or lose weight."

"Well you thought wrong."

"I see. What's your game?"

"Huh?"

"Steal Shawn from me? Make my life miserable? What is your plan?"

"If I had a plan then I wouldn't tell you. I just came back because I missed it here. It's my home."

"Pretend all you want but I will find out."

"Vera I've seen how Shawn ignores you. He lost intrest in you. I know you've noticed it too. He is bored of the same thing. Soon he will dump you. You will just be his old play toy. And like every other girl he dated you'll be heartbroken."

"Shut up. You don't know what you are talking about. You are saying this because you are jelous that he picked me over you."

You could easily make out the sadness and desperation in her voice. She knew I was telling the truth but didn't want to admit it. I can relate. Mallory would tell me how my relationship with Shawn was sketchy. She told me it was weird how suddenly he showed interest in me but I didn't want to listen so I was dumped by Shawn and left totally heartbroken.

"Whatever but I'll say "I told you so" when you are bawling your eyes out in this very bathroom. I just want you to know that you can count on me any day to kick his ass."

I walk out leaving her standing there looking at the floor. I know that I was supposed to get revenge on Vera too but I don't wish for her to get dumped and humiliated by Shawn. Maybe she can help me get revenge on Shawn. I know Vera when she wants something she gets it. It doesn't matter if she hurts others to get it.

I know that she'll hate Shawn for playing with her and she will want to team up. To be honest we are somewhat alike.
