"Are you okay?"

I wipe my tears and turn to face Adam with a smile on my face. I hug him and peck his cheek.

"Yes." I whisper.

I interwined our fingers and started down the porch of my house. Spring is starting and it's been about three months since my father's death. School will be over soon and I don't know what I am going to do with my life yet. The future for me is all a blur.

"We should go." He says as he interlocks our fingers and leads me down the porch stairs.

I am having dinner with his mom today. She invited me after she saw me at her house when I was studying with Adam. I might meet Shawn's dad if he is home early. Adam moved in with his mother and his step-dad last month. He says Shawn's dad is treating him well.

"Are you nervous? You haven't said anything through the first five minutes." Adam asks.

"I am actually, I just want your mom to like me."

"She will like you. She always wanted a daughter."

I smiled and sat back in my seat. We arrived at the large two story house. I was always amazed with the size it's like four times bigger than my house. We walk inside and are greeted by his mother. She tells us to take a seat. I sit next to Adam and she sits across from us.

"How did you two meet?" She asks.

"Well I was new to school and we had a class together. We just started talking afterwards." I said.

"What was your first impression of my son?"

I look at Adam and he is just staring at me with a small smirk on his lips.

"Well I first thought he was cute, then I thought he was rude to be honest I thought he was arrogant and a brat but now I see he is not at least not as much as I thought he would." I said.

"He is stubborn that's what he is," his mom says.

When we finish eating we all sit in the living room talking and laughing about Adam's baby stories. He sounded like a cute funny baby. He sat on the end with his jaw clenched, I could see a light pink color on his cheeks.

"Awww is Adam blushing?" I ask.

"No, mom please stop."

"Oh just wait until you hear the story of his first day in school it w-" Adam cut her off quickly.

"No mom please don't."

"Continue, please," I pleaded.

"Adam didn't want to go inside so he started crying as he tugged on my pants..."

"I wasn't crying I was pretending so you could take me back home." Adam defended.

"So he went inside the class, he sat there pouting and crying..."

"I was not crying." Adam said.

"Let me finish Adam. So it was time for me to go and-"

"Mom please don't, I'll do whatever you want. I'll clean everything, I'll cook and stuff."

"Oh okay, sorry Kimberly he'll have to tell you."

"No I wanted to hear what happened."

"Looks like you're not going to know," Adam says smirking.

"Adam you can start by washing the dishes," his mother says as she walks upstairs.

Adam grunts but walks towards the kitchen. I follow him there and try to get the story out of him.
