I woke up on my bed, Adam was still beside me with his arms tightly around me. He looks so adorable when he sleeps. It was dark outside, my phone buzzed beside me on my bedside table. It was my aunt. I picked up my phone as I carefully slipped out of Adam's arms. I put on my slippers as I walked out into the hall. I pulled down the over sized shirt I was wearing.

"Hello," I said answering the phone.

"Kimberly honey, I'm on my way, I'm just ten minutes away."

"Okay I'll be waiting," I said as I cleared my throat.

"Don't cry okay, be strong honey, for your mother."

"Alright."

I make two mugs of coffee and set them on the table as I get the door before Adam wakes up. When I open the door my aunt embraces me into a warm hug. We sit down on the couch and talk.

"I feel like yelling," my aunt says.

"We have to keep it down, Adam is upstairs sleeping."

"He is here?"

"Yeah he was comforting me and we fell asleep."

"He's a nice boy," my aunt said as she held my hand.

"Yeah."

"Your mom is still at the hospital?"

"Yeah she's filling out some papers."

"I'll wait for her okay, you go to sleep. And I'll let your mom know that Adam is upstairs."

"Thank you."

I didn't sleep much. It was like three now and my eyes were opened, I was tired but I didn't feel like going to sleep. I sat on my bed with my head on my knees as I gripped my legs tightly into my chest. I sobbed silently trying to not wake up Adam. I wasn't too quiet because Adam woke up a while later.

"Kimberly?" He asked in a sleepy voice. He sat up, rubbing his eyes.

"Sorry for waking you, I just couldn't sleep," I said.

"It's okay you should have woken me up."

"I didn't want to bother you."

"You wouldn't bother me, now come, you need sleep." He patted the bed space beside him and pulled me towards him.

He pulled me into his body and wrapped his arms around me. My face was on his chest as his chin rested on the top of my head.

"Just sleep okay."

"Okay. Adam?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you for being here for me."

"You don't need to thank me. I love you and I will always be there for you."

"You just said you love me?"

"Uh... I guess I did. But it's true. Kimberly I love you."

"I love you too Adam."

He gave me a small kiss before he turned off my lamp and pulled me closer to him. My eyelids got heavier, I shut my eyes and fell into a deep sleep with a smile on my face.

When next week rolled around my mom decided to keep me around. I convinced her, I needed her and I know she needed me here. I was not going to leave her alone. My father's funeral would be this Sunday and my mom had to leave on Tuesday to inform my father's siblings. She would come back on Thursday and until then my aunt would have to watch me.
