Chapter 6
When grandma hanged up I went upstairs to my room to try and find something to wear. I turned on the radio and listened to Give me everything, by ne-yo and pitbull. I opened my closet and went to where my dresses were. It took me about an hour to decide what I wanted to wear. I ended choosing a purple dress. I went to take a shower as quick as I could. When I was done I changed into the dress and put on some gray flats. Then I blow dried my hair. I didn’t know how I wanted to wear it. Most of the time I have it in a ponytail, I felt like doing something different with it so I decided to curl it. That took me a while to get done, and then I did my makeup. It was weird to put some on. Normally I didn’t wear any maybe some mascara yes, but not like eye shadow. When I was done I looked in the mirror. As I was heading downstairs my phone rang I didn’t recognize the number but I thought it could be Chad.
“Hello” I answered.
“Hey, Andy, it’s Chad” he said. His voice made me get butterflies in my stomach.
“Hey, what’s up?” I asked as I continued to walk down the steps.
“I was wondering if you were ready to go”
“Yes” I answered
“Awesome, ok I’ll be there in a bit to pick you up” he answered.
“Thanks” I said back. I couldn’t believe he had remembered where I live.
“Ok, bye see you soon”
I hated having the house being quite, normally my brother’s had their tv on really loud. I turned on the tv but there was nothing good was on. When I had finally found something that I liked the doorbell rang. I got up and l opened it was Chad.
“Hey” he said with a smile.
“Hi, come on in, let me just turn the tv off” I said back with a smile.
“Are your brothers home?” he asked.
“No, there with my grandma in Kansas City.” I answered as I turned off the tv.
“Are you ready to go?” he asked.
“Yep”
“Ok, let’s go” he answered. We walked out the door and walked to his car. To my surprise he opened the passenger seat for me.
“Thank you” I said with a smile.
“You welcome” he said returning the smile.
He shut the door and walked around the car to get into the driver’s seat. He started the car and backed out of the drive way.
“By the way you look gorgeous in that dress” he said looking at me with a smile. No guy had ever told me that I looked gorgeous before. I could feel my face blushing.
“Thank you, and you don’t look bad yourself either” I said back with a smile. He was wearing a white v neck shirt with light blue jeans and blue converse.
“Yeah, but you look better”
“Thanks, anyway what are we going to do so early at the party?” I asked.
“Well we have to get there early or you won’t find a place to park, and also because I want you to met my friends.” He answered.
“I’m meeting your friends? Do they know that us is just a pretend thing?”
“Yes, they know, but I trust them we’ve been best friends since kindergarten”
“So they won’t tell Victoria”
