"Okay guys! Keep them knees up!" I shout over the echoing of the gymnasium. We came in doors today. Its been raining nearly all week. The force field is weaker in the rain. So nearly everyone has been pent up in the house for 168 hours, and let me tell you, it has not been fun!
I've been trying to keep everyone in shape by doing hourly training sessions, but due to our gymnasium being so small, its been a bit cramped, and we haven't been able to work out properly.
Today, I was bringing out the big guns. Literally. Hopefully, I'd be able to get everyone's moods up with target practice, using machine guns that were specialised to kill wolfs. I also had a few knives up my sleeves, for those who preferred close combat.
In this hour session I had the 18-21 year olds. They enjoyed weapons the most. The older generation preferred to fight with their bare hands. I mean if we had the strength to, that's what we should do, but the wolves are getting stronger, we're getting weaker, so we may as well play dirty instead.
"Okay! I need everyone in two lines! Knives! and guns!" I shout over them all, pointing to the left and the right for ach weapon. Most of the girls went for knives, where as the boys went for the guns. There were some that were indecisive however, so I cleared it up quickly. "You'll get a chance at both, but its just what you'll start off with," I directed my voice at the lingering souls, who quickly went to join their friends.
"Okay! Guns with Derek, Knives with me!" I stated and headed to the left side of the gymnasium. I press a small button next to one of our grand paintings, and the wall folds back, to reveal a walk in closet, filled to the brim with knives. "Everyone," I grin, looking at them all. "Pick your blade," Everyone scrambled in. Hoping they would get the best knives. i was already judging how they picked their weapon, on what type of fighter they were.
"Once you have your knife, come stand by a dummy," I call out as I finish setting the last dummy up.
"Now I want everyone to think about how you would take down a wolf!"
"Where would you hit it?"
"How would you?"
"Go for the kill straight away, or try a little bit of tactics first?"
"What if there was more than one?"
"Practise on your dummies now!"I turn back, one small petite girl lingered in the room. She seemed upset. She looked as though she was one of the youngest in the group. I walk up to her slowly.
"Whats wrong?" I ask the blonde softly. Her blue eyes bore into mine. "I'm not strong enough to lift the heavy knives, but I don't want to get close to the wolves when I fight them," She replies. I look her up and down, calculating her weaknesses and strengths. "Any good at throwing?" I ask her.
Her long lashes widen in surprise. "I guess," I nod at her, picking up a black box off the middle island. "Here, you'll be good at these," She opens the box with caution and gasps. Inside lay quite a few ninja stars and a pair of clothes, to ensure the thrower does not cut themselves with their weapons.
I nod at her, urging her to try them out. She throws the star at a dummy after sliding on the gloves. She takes the head straight off. She has perfect aim. "I think you just found your weapon," I smile at her. She turns to beam at me, her pink lips stretching ear to ear. She throws her arms around me. "Thank you," she breathes. Sounding really relieved.
I tense as I realise she's hugging me. I'm not one for touchy feely stuff, but the warmth from her arms comfort me. I smile at down at her. Using one hand I awkwardly pat her back. "You're welcome," I stand there as a few more awkward minutes go by. "You can let go now," I tell her.
She drops her arms and steps back, biting her bottom lip nervously. She nods once before turning back around to continue practising.
I watch as the troops continue practising with their new weapons. Pride swells in my heart. I've done this, built all of this up around me. Trained them. Taught them. Fought with them. All me.
I stand in the centre of the gymnasium. "Attention!" I shout over the grunts of effort. All eyes turn to look at me.
"I want all of you to take these weapons and practise with them for the next week, then we'll swap, and those who picked blades will use guns, those who picked guns will use blades, there will be no more training sessions until next week, so, get practising!" I shout over the murmurs of excitement in the crowd.
I nod at them all, before heading up to my room, exhausted from today, and in the need of a nap. Yet something is calling me to go outside and I'm trying to fight it as best I can, as to not endanger my troops.
Once I reach my door, I pull my hair out of my braid, and change out of my armour that I use when training. I remove the bullet proof padding and the black overalls and dump them in my wash hamper.
I open up my wardrobe and take out a grey over sized T-shirt and black leggins. I pick up some fresh underwear and head into my bathroom to take a quick shower to rid my body of sweat.
The warm shower relaxes me and stops my hair from feeling dry and tangled. I shampoo and condition before checking my legs are silky smooth and step out of the shower. I grab my grey towel and pat my body dry.
I slip on my fresh clothes after putting on some deodorant. I towel dry my hair before tying it up into a sloppy bun. Small wisps of hair attacking my forehead and cheeks.
Next I slip on some socks and head over to the bathroom window to get rid of the steam. I open it up gently, waiting to be hit by rain, but I'm not. It's stopped raining. It's stopped raining!
I rush out of the room and run around the house "It's stopped raining!" I giggle to anyone who will listen. "It's stopped raining!" I cheer as I reach the front door and rush out. My socks coming into contact with the damp grass.
I throw my head up and laugh. It's stopped raining!
A twig snaps in the far distance and I'm instantly alert. My body tensing up as I spin around in a defensive position.
Then I see him. Zave. He's here again. Like always. I stalked over to him, careful to stay in the force field. I watch as he sniffs the air gently.
His eyes physically brighten, and he let's out a small smile and he stands up straighter. "Hi," His voice sounding like honey, as he attempts for a reply. I don't reply of course. "I'm sorry about my pack, they are very territorial, you see," He speaks blindly, trying to pin point my location.
"When I woke up to an amazing scent in the bed right next to me, I got so excited! Then I realised there was no one there, and I came out and you were jumping out a window, and I was losing you, I got so scared and I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have followed you here, but you're my m-" His voice is cut off by another. "What are you doing here Zave," The voice snarls. "Your pathetic little hunter obviously doesn't want to see you if she continues to hide behind some witches spell," The snarl rises, and a blonde haired man appears behind him.
"Beta Evan," Zave sighs. "I just wanted to assure her we did not make love, for I remember her passing out before anything happened, and I did not want her to believe I raped her," The man beside him snickered. "You should have, you won't ever be getting any for a long time," The man laughs at Zave. My hatred for the man begins to grow and I hold back from attacking him for being so rude to Zave. It was making my skin cruel. "Rape is not a funny subject, Beta," Zave nearly growls. "No," Evan replies with a smirk, "but you are, you're a pathetic useless leader, you may as well go rouge, you piece of shit," Evan snaps.
As soon as those words leave his disgusting mouth I launch it to action. "You disgusting son of a bitch!" I scream as I throw myself out of the force field, straight towards the Beta. Unarmed.
