I fumbled with the hem of my shirt as I walked through the Ark to meet my mother. Diana Sydney, ex Chancellor of The Ark was my mother. I usually can't go anywhere without a guard with me, but for some reason I had finally been able to shake them off today.

I turned a corner only to be met with a black hallway. That's weird they usually always keep the lights on unless it's night. I walked through the hallway anyway, there was no other way to get to my mother. My combat boots made loud patters as I made my way down the hallway. As I was only halfway through the dark hallway a figure emerged from the shadows.

"Commander Shumway?" I say, it coming out as more of a question. I stopped in my tracks, feeling my body jerk backwards, wanting to retreat. But my stubbornness kept me standing in the dark hallway.

"Tatum, what a...surprise." Shumway says walking closer towards me. "Now, what would a pretty, young thing like you be doing out here, all alone?" Shumway whispers, circling me.

"I'm on my way to see my mother." I answer, shakily. I was never used to being this close to Shumway. The only time he and I had ever spoken was when I was with my mother, never alone.

"Maybe you should...come back to my cell with me. I'd teach you how to be a good girl." Shumway says tracing my collar bone with his cold fingers.

"Hell no." I say strongly, turning to run in the other direction, only to be caught at the waist by him and dragged in the direction of his home/cell. "Let me go!" I yell kicking my legs as I'm being dragged backwards.

"I would stop yelling if I was you." Shumway laughs.

"No! Help! Someone help me! Please!" I scream as I helplessly struggle to get free.

I feel myself being thrown in mid air and I land on the ground of Shumway's cell. I groan in pain as my hip aches from the sudden contact with the metal floor.

"I told you to stop screaming, didn't I?" Shumway smirks.

"Get away from me." I growl putting my hand up for him to stop.

"Now, why would I do that?" Shumway asks, taking his shirt off.

"Stop! Please!" I beg, tears beginning to spill from my eyes. I use my hand to help me stand up and I begin walking backwards, away from Shumway.

"Tatum, I would advise you to stop trying to back away." Shumway growls, taking his pants off.

"Back up!" I yell.

Shumway doesn't listen. I continue to walk backwards, until I feel the cold metal of the cell wall hit my back.

"Shumway, stop!" I yell.

"Commander Shumway to you!" Shumway yells. He props both of his arms up, around my head, blocking my from moving.

In one swift movement I grab the gun that was sitting on the floor by his clothes and turn. Now Shumway's back is against the wall and I have the gun pointed at him.

"Tatum, you don't want to do this." Shumway says.

"Why wouldn't I?" I yell.

Suddenly the sound of boots running against the ground get louder and the door to Shumway's cell is blown open. All the rest of the guards are standing at the door, looking at the scene in front of them, me holding Commander Shumway at gun point, oblivious to what happened before that.

"Tatum Sydney, you're under arrest for attempted murder." One of the guards says taking both of my hands, making the gun fall and clatter on the ground. Metal hand cuffs were locked around my wrists and my body was being shoved out of Shumway's cell. The last thing I remember seeing of that day was Shumway, half naked in the corner of his cell, laughing.

And that's how I ended up where I am now. Sitting on the ground of my cell in the Sky Box. I have been here for 88 days. Somehow mother has kept convincing Chancellor Jaha to keep me alive for this long.  I was drawing in the dust on the floor. Stars. That's all I was drawing. That's all I ever drew. I look up and look around the room. Stars were drawn on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Pretty much every surface that had any dust on it, a star was drawn. They were the only thing keeping me sane. The only thing keeping from just killing myself now. The stars kept me calm.

The door to my cell is busted open and three guards walk in.

"If you haven't already noticed, this cell is occupied." I sigh drawing another star on the floor.

"Get up and face the wall." One of the guards commands.

"I will, but I won't enjoy it." I say standing up and turning to face the wall. The guard approaches me and grabs my wrist, I restrain and pull back. "What're you doing?"

"Quiet! Hold out your right arm." The guard demands. He grabs my arm and turns my wrist over exposing my greenish veins and my open hand. He grabs something that looks like a metal bracelet and slaps it on my wrist. I hiss out in pain "What is that?" I growl. The guard doesn't respond he just locks the bracelet and shoves me backwards into the other guard. The other guard grabs me by my shoulders and begins dragging me out of my cell.

"Wait! Stop! It's too early! I'm not supposed to be floated for another  month!" I yell kicking my feet as I did the day I got arrested.

"Shut up!" One of the guards yells. And before I could even prosper what was happening I was out of the door and the guard was slamming it shut. My mind races, trying not to panic, straining for a move to pull on the guards to get free. I look over the railing and see something that makes my heart drop. All along the cell block, on floors above and below, the prisoners are being led out of their cells. All of them are badly shaken and in some pain from the matching wristbands they all had on.

"What's going on? They're killing us all aren't they?" I yell trying to break free from the guards.

A level below I see a familiar head of blonde hair come running out of her cell.

"Clarke!" I yell at her. Her attention is now on me as the guards come running out of her cell after her.

I didn't have much time to see anything else before I felt a very sharp pain in my abdomen and everything went black.
