"A promise is a promise, you shouldn't make promises you don't intend to keep, because you will only end up hurting the one you love most."

After leaving ten years ago, Mason McCallister returns back to his original hometown. Driving down the same old roads, streets, and town, he felt as if there was much he missed out on. In his new neighborhood, he felt ready to start his whole life over, hoping to remember something or someone he once talked, played, and loved a long time ago.

Madison Ann had a pretty tough life without her childhood best friend there to help her cope with it, but she strives to do her best, making a new best friend Emily Caroline.

Years later they meet again, but to Madison's surprised Mason doesn't remember her.

Walking down the cold, empty neighborhood, Maddie noticed a guy in a driveway a couple of houses down, carrying boxes in and out of the house. She stands there still, trying to get a better look at her new neighbor when she began to feel butterflies in her stomach. 'He looks like- No, it can't be him... Can it?' She pondered.

Without thinking, her body moved forward, slowly at first, but got faster till her arms wrapped itself around his waist. She embraces the guy tightly from behind, not wanting to let go. Tears began to stream down her cheeks, dripping onto his white tee.

"Y-you're back... You're finally back... I-I've missed you so much, so don't ever leave me behind like that ever again. Pl-please don't leave me." She cried out loudly.

The unknown guys', body became stiff before relaxing to somewhat a familiar embrace. He then slowly turn around, looking down to see a girl sobbing her heart out. A part of him was screaming at him to embrace her back, telling him that he knows her, but he can't seem to remember the girl standing before him. He slowly pulled away from her with an awkward smile. "I'm sorry, but do I know you?"

Staring back into his confused eyes, she began to feel shock or maybe even embarrassment. "What? I-it's me Maddie..."

"I'm sorry, but I have never met a girl as beautiful as you before." He smiled before pointing over at his house. "I just recently moved here, and so far you're the first person I've met."

Her heart shattered. She stood there stunned, not knowing what to say or do. Her whole world was officially falling apart. 'He d-doesn't know me?' She takes a step back, breathing out heavily, looking down before looking back up with a smile. "Oh, sorry. I must have mistaken you for someone else."

"It's fine. You didn't have to apologize." He chuckles, reaching over, wiping away her tears.

She takes another step back, flustered, looking down at her hands. "I-I'm sorry that I cried. It probably surprised you, and I might have ruined your shirt as well... I'm probably wasting your time right now."

He felt a little pain in his heart when she pulled away and he saw how heartbroken and disappointed she looked. "I-It's fine, really... Any-anyways, I gotta go, but I hope you feel better."

She looks up at him one last time before giving him a sad smile. He smiles back then turns, walking away, leaving her there, remembering that heartbreaking day... The day the person she loved the most left...
