I woke up, dazed and confused, and felt something soft beneath me. When I felt it, I soon realized it was sand. I got up, and dusted myself off, squinting against the bright sun. My stomach felt empty and my mouth felt dry. I needed to find some water or food or something. I walked along the beach, scouting the thick bush just beyond the sand. Strangely, I spotted an orange tree. I didn't think about it much though. I quickly climbed up and picked a few oranges. I then ripped the skin open, and devoured them easily, and then I went back for more. When I had had my belly's full, I looked back at the bush, and sighed. If this was any beach near to civilization, then there would be a path, and the beach wouldn't be so clean.
I got up, and went for a swim in the sea, to clear my head. When I came out, I flopped down on the sand. Okay, so what happened on the boat? One minute, I was sitting with Taylor, the next, I'm falling in the water. And I felt someone catch me, but no one was in the water... were they? No, they weren't. They were all having dinner, and the boat was moving, so it wasn't possible for someone to be in the water. But I was sure that someone caught me... No, it must've been something else.
I shook my head, little water droplets falling on the sand. I decided to set up camp. I broke branches off of trees, and scouted the beach for something I could use as a roof. But there was nothing, in fact, there was not a single thing on this perfect, clean beach. Not even anything that's floated over here from somewhere, not even anything from my possibly ship-wrecked boat. I sighed, and went back to my huddle of branches. I took them out of where I stood them, and I made a fire with them. I warmed my hands, and sat there for awhile. I didn't let myself think on the bad side, or really think at all. The only thing I was focused on was the warmth of the fire, and the beauty of the sun going down. When it was finally dark, and the only light source was the fire I made, I decided to count my days here. I stuck a little twig in the ground, far enough so the water can't wash it away. I rested back against a tree trunk. I kept staring at the ocean, waiting for some sign of human life, but there was none.
"How far can this place be so as not to have anything mess with it?" I said to myself. My stomach felt empty, but I needed to conserve my oranges, since they were they only fruit I found that I knew off. The others looked strange and unfamiliar. I adjusted myself, so that I was comfortable. Well, tonight I rest, and maybe tomorrow I'll go hiking.
