I woke up, had a short swim in the ocean, but I was careful not to go in very deep. It felt wonderful on my skin, and sore muscles. I still had no idea what happened to me out there. If it was the girl I met, I would've seen her enter the water, so it wasn't her, but what other creature could've felt like a hand being wrapped around my ankle? I didn't think about it much after that, for my imagination is to vivid for my own good. I decided to look around the island, figuring it was so small that either way I would end up at the beach, and then just walk around back to my own campsite. I didn't even bother taking any food or anything, because I could find my way back whenever I wanted. I entered the jungle, and just decided to wander around. Even if I get lost, I can always find my way back. Once a little way in the woods, I found that there was a path leading East, I guessed. I followed it, half-hoping to find that girl I met the other day. I can't believe it's only been a day since I met her. It seems like eons ago.

I was just starting to feel hungry when I spotted it. A wooden cabin, right there. It looked like something out of a history book. I felt a great leaping of hope, thinking that someone might be living in it. I knocked on the door, but I heard no stirrings. I pushed it open, seeing there was no lock on the door, and found that there was only one room in this place, and it was a mess. There were clothes all over the floor, many with bloodstains on them. The floor itself was a mixture of dirt, dust, and dead animals. There were the rotting corpses of rabbits, and other things too that I didn't want to know about. There was only a wooden table in the middle of the room, and windows on the walls to my left and right. On the table I saw a cutlass, and I grabbed it. On the blade what I thought to be rust was actually dried blood. The smell of death overwhelmed me, and I backed out of the room immediately.

Clutching the cutlass, I ran back to my beach, wanting to get away from the house as fast as possible. It was a disturbing sight, and I felt like my lunch was going to be lost if I spent another second close to that nightmare.

But who did those things? The clothes on the floor were both male and female, with some smaller clothes mixed in, for children. But they were covered in blood, so they obviously aren't living now. Was it the girl I met on the beach? Was that what she meant by eating me? Is this island full of cannibals, just waiting for their next attack? Was I going to be their next meal?

All these questions and no answers. When I got back to my beach, it was like a breath of fresh air. The salty breeze had never smelt so good. I dove in at once, and after swimming for some time, went to find some mangoes. I picked a few off the tree, and slurped them down, feeling the sweet juices run down my face onto the sand. I rinsed myself off, as well as the knife. When the cutlass was clean enough, I got my coconuts out. I steadied them, and cut a small hole off the top. I tipped the coconut, and sweet coconut water entered my mouth. I guzzled it down, tasting the wonderful taste, feeling my body getting hydrated. I only drank one, knowing the longer these lasted, the longer I spent not having to climb up that dreaded coconut tree. I decided I had lots of time to investigate the cabin, and for today, I would just relax.

As the sun went down, I put another notch in the tree. Four days I've been here. Only four days, and so much has happened. I rested my cutlass by my side, and fell asleep, my hand resting on the handle.
