Song: Elastic Heart (Piano Version) by Sia (Honestly, she's so underrated. I don't listen to a lot of pop music, but Sia is fantastic.)
-----------------
"Hey, Benji," I whispered. "Are you awake?"
He hummed in response and nudged his face further against my neck.
We got back to Benji's about thirty minutes ago, a few minutes past two in the morning, but I still couldn't sleep. My mind was still everywhere after everything that happened. It's roaming horrible possibilities.
"Have you ever seen snow?" I asked.
Benji shifted and moved his head away from my neck. I turned slightly to find his eyes in the dark. "I have on tour and when I was a kid, we'd visit my grandparents in Virginia for Christmas. I'd always wake up to it snowing Christmas morning."
I smiled. "Sounds amazing."
"Really cold though." He laughed.
"I've never seen snow before. Knowing me, I'd probably cry if I woke up to snow on Christmas morning. But that chances of that happening in Florida is basically one in a billion."
Benji chuckled. "Yeah, sorry to crush your dreams."
"They aren't crushed yet." I leaned forward and laid my head on his chest. "Well, hoping for snow in Florida is pointless. But there's snow somewhere else."
His fingers weaved through my hair and I closed my eyes.
Benji sighed and brushed his fingers over my scalp. "I finished the song today," He said suddenly.
I tilted my head back to look at him. "That's great." Even though he couldn't see my smile, I let my lips curve.
He pressed his lips to my forehead. "We're recording tomorrow and hopefully I'll have it ready by Christmas."
"Can you do that in two days?"
"Yeah, we already started today. We agreed to keep it acoustic."
I bit the inside of my cheek for a moment. "I can't wait to hear it."
"And I can't wait for you to hear it." He kissed my forehead and then his lips found mine in the dark. It was meant to be a small goodnight kiss, but I felt it develop into something more and fast.
My lips parted and I shifted slightly so I was lying halfway on Benji's chest. One of his hands still tangled in my hair and the other was placed flat against the lower plane of my back. I maneuvered and swung a leg over Benji's hips to straddle his lap. When the kiss fell apart, I breathed in a gasp and Benji was panting beneath me.
I only caught a glint in his eyes before I lowered my lips to his throat, kissing down to the hallow and up again. He tilted his head down to capture my lips again before I wondered off. He pressed my body harder against his and I'm not sure who the moan escaped from.
I gripped Benji's face in my hands and deepened the kiss with the part of my lips. Benji's arm slipped around my waist and in one swift motion, he flipped us so I was underneath him. He latched his lips on mine again and I barely got a breath in. He bent his head to my neck and nudged my jaw with his nose. My hand drifted to the nape of his neck, my fingers sliding into his hair.
He kissed the line of my jaw and met my lips again before leaning his forehead against mine. "I was tired five minutes ago." He panted against my mouth.
