Awkward

Chapter 7/Cheer Tryouts

When I got home, I saw on the front door that there was cheer and basketball tryouts. I really wanted to do both.

(The next day)

When I got to school, I heard that Conner, Luke, and Blake were trying out for basketball. I wanted some advice on what to do so I asked the boys. I didn't care if it was going to be awkward between me and Conner. I said " Hey guys, I some advice for tryouts." Blake said " What do you need?" I said "Well um I want to try out for basketball but I really want to try out for cheer too. I need your help." Conner said "Do cheer cause, I want to see you at my games." I said "okay, so I'm going to try out for cheer then!" They all were happy for me.

My day went pretty well. I have no homework so that's a start. I went home to grab my cheer stuff and get ready. 20 minutes later I walked out went back to school for open gym. The guys were practicing for basketball tryouts. When I got to the gym I saw them practicing with their SHIRTS OFF! They all literally had all 6 packs. I had to calm myself down cause I freaked out by all the muscles! I went over to the cheerleaders with a sports-bra on and spandex, all the guys were staring especially Conner because he never seen me wear this.

We had half of the gym and the boys had the other. So I stretched and warmed up a little bit. After I was done with that I started to warm up my tumbling and all the buys stared staring and I felt like a showoff. Conner yelled across the gym and said " You loooooookkkk gggrrreeaatttttttt, babe!" I smiled. Everyone was confused because they didn't know Conner and I were dating, I think. A couple hours later I was finished with open gym. The coach said tryouts were tomorrow and we had to be there at 10:00am.

(The next day)

I woke up at exactly 9:00 so I got up got dressed, ate and pretty much was all ready. I walked to the school and when I got there, it was not that packed actually. I walked right in and started to stretch and warm up my jumps and tumbling. 15 minutes late I was on the gym floor by myself doing everything they asked me too. After I was done, I went over to a chair by my stuff and waited until they announced who made it.

As soon as everyone was done, they started to announce who made: "Riley, Hailey, Megann, Morganne, Britney, Anna, Jenna, Jackie, Dani,"I thought I didn't make it but they had one last one to call out and it was, " and finally Taylor." I was so proud of myself that I made the cheer team.
