Harry's POVI swear if this nitwit doesn't shut up soon we will never catch anything and I'll be forced to string him up for the wolves to feed off of.The whole two hours we have been out here he has been asking every damn question I think his pea sized brain can come up with. I honestly wish I would have taken that snobby bitches advice on letting him stay with her, at least that way he could have annoyed someone else. I take a arrow out of my case that is slung around my shoulder and hold it against the bow. Even though I doubt we'll catch a thing at least this way I'll be ready if anything does show up.
"So how long have you lived out here?" Yet another question comes flooding out of his mouth. I'm tempted to ask Ellie to sew his mouth shut when we get back, but I'm pretty sure that royal would have my head.
"Long time." I simply answer, hoping he'll get the hint that I don't want to talk. We continue walking through the woods and I make sure to watch the trees. I have marked each one with a strike at eye level with a dagger so I'll know I haven't wondered too far away from camp.
"Do you ever catch anything? Have you ever killed a deer?" I'm so tempted to point my bow at this idiot and just put us both out of our misery, but somehow or another I manage to hold back.
"I do, but with your loud ass voice, I doubt we will ever catch a thing. My people need food, so if I come back empty handed then we'll have to risk going hunting again." I let my voice raise as loud as I feel safe, hoping this pitiful excuse of a man will get a damn hint.
"I thought you said hunting was safe? How dangerous is this? Rosalie would be so upset with you if she knew you lied." Daniel moves closer to me and starts to look over his shoulder frantically like something is just waiting to pounce on him. In a way, I hope something does, so at least I'll had catch something plus it'll get him out of my way. Two birds, one stone.
"Just shut up and let me catch something." I walk past him and hit my shoulder with his. I stomp around the forest trying to spot anything to kill. I'm hoping for a rabbit, but I would be satisfied even if I got a bird. I crouch down on my knees while leaning against a tree. Daniel is sitting a few tree trunks away fiddling with his hands. I hear something rustling in the distance, my eyes find their way up to a tree branch several feet away to spot a fairly large squirrel with what looks to be a walnut between its limbs. I pull back on the bow and make my aim before releasing the arrow. I watch as it pierces through the small animals body.
"Holy shit, you just killed it." I hear Daniel's surprised voice announce from behind me. I look back at him and narrow my eyes into slits. I stand from my position and walk over to the tree were the squirrel now lays lifeless on the ground. I pick the animal up and throw it in a rough textured bag I always carry with me.
"Can we head back to camp now?" How ignorant is this guy? One squirrel for an entire village of hungry people? I need to be out here until I can at least catch ten of these things. I turn to face him and say,
"If you want to go back then you can, but I have to stay out here and provide for my people." I walk away from him and head further into the woods, making sure to watch my surroundings. I hear rustling behind me and I can already tell it's Daniel. I wish he would just leave me the hell alone, I can't stand to be in his presence.
"You really expect me to find my way back there alone?" I brush him off and continue to look for anything to kill. I keep my bow and arrow at hand, so that I'm ready. After a few minutes of walking, I begin to hear what sounds like hoofs lightly skimming across the Earth's floor. I quickly turn towards the noise and find myself pointing my arrow right at Daniel.
"Whoa, hold up man. What the hell do you think you're doing?!" I again brush him off and let loose of my arrow watching as it pierces through a deer around thirty feet behind Daniel. He screeches out in pain, as the arrow schemes against his arm, and grabs it.
"What the hell man! You just shot an arrow at me!" I can see blood start to drip from his arm, but I pay little to no attention to him since the wound doesn't look life threatening. I walk past him and go straight for the deer, proud of myself for having such a kill; this one deer will feed many of my people. I pick up the animal and throw it over my shoulders, grasping it's hoofs and holding onto it tightly.
"I can't believe you shot me! I'm bleeding and you couldn't care less." He walks over to me and shows me his arm. I examine the cut and just continue walking past him and towards camp. I hear him following close behind. Knowing he'll probably go running to that spoiled brat and tell her that I purposely shot him, which is slightly true. I could have moved over a few inches and missed him and still shot the deer, but what's the fun in that?
Several minutes pass before we end back up at camp and that Daniel kid never shuts up for one minute. I finally just started tuning him out since the man downstairs kept tempting me to shoot him.
"Daniel, you're finally back!" I can already hear the royal twits voice call out for her man. I just walk past the snobby girl and head for the kitchen to drop off the meat. As I'm walking there I am stopped by a screech.
"You shot him?! How dare you! He's part of a royal family, you could be hanged for this." The princess stomps over to me pointing an accusing finger at me like she can actually do anything. For her sake, I stand there and listen as she bickers. I attempt to act like I'm actually concerned for her little boyfriend, but I find myself having trouble doing so.
"Are you done yet?" I knew it would infuriate her and that's why I said it. She wants me to care, but I could care less. Her face turns a shade darker and I can already see the steam coming out of her.
"You're a disgrace, a disgusting man! How dare you treat us with so little respect." I begin to shake my head at this girl. Hasn't she figured it out by now that her status means nothing to me? That I would rather bow down to a donkey then be under her rule.
"Have you already forgotten that you have zero power here? You're powerless and worthless you spoiled little bitch." I spit in her face, within seconds her hand comes in full contact with my left cheek. The smirk on her face says she thinks she actually accomplished something, but when I grin right back at her, her smile falters.
"Tie them up to the pole... Separately, and leave them there." I announce to Mathias. He was onlooking from a few feet away, watching as the whole thing played out. He has been apart of the camp for as long as I have and I trust him with my life. He nods his head and grabs the princess and drags her and her man off to the pole. The long, slender peice of wood is set up in the middle of the village. It's there to teach rule breakers and unfaithful people to learn their lesson after angering me one too many times.
