I was getting ready for bed when I heard the car stop across the street. I looked through the window and saw
Aaron and Jamie getting out of the car. Just seeing Aaron gave me butterflies in my stomach. Jamie was saying something to Aaron and he was smiling. I looked longingly at him. He had sent me the pictures that he promised and from the looks of it the preparations were going really good. I
was still looking at him when he suddenly looked in my direction. I quickly hid behind the wall and then slowly peeked again but he had already gone inside.
I combed my hair and went under the covers. I grabbed my phone the same time I received a text message. It was
from none other than Aaron Black.
Aaron: ‘Thanks for waiting for me on the window. ;)’
I blushed. “He saw me. Shit!” I muttered to myself.
Me: ‘You’re mistaken, Mister.’
Aaron: ‘Am I Lady?’
Me: ‘Yeah.’
Aaron: ‘Then who hid quickly when I looked up? ’ I could imagine him
smirking while writing this text.
Me: ‘You’re imagining things.’
Aaron: ‘No babe. You know I wasn’t.’
I was smiling all the while texting him.
Me: ‘Whatever.’
Aaron: ‘I missed you by the way.’ That did the job and I was
grinning like a fool.
Me: ‘Really? Then you should’ve taken me with you.
Aaron: ‘Had it been up to me, I would’ve kidnapped you by now.’
Me: ‘LOL.’ I didn’t know what to reply to that. I was blushing very deep.
Aaron: ‘Anyways, what are you doing?’
Me: 'I was going to sleep. It’s 10:30 and I’m feeling very sleepy.'
Aaron: ‘Ok. You need beauty sleep for tomorrow. Not that you won’t look beautiful anyway.’
Me: ‘Thanks for the compliment. Good night.’
Aaron: ‘Good night.’
I was in deep sleep when my phone rang. I checked the time. It was 12a.m. and Aaron was calling.
“What?” I said sleepily.
“Happy birthday!” I rubbed my eyes.
“Hmm?” He chuckled.
“I said happy birthday. It’s your birthday today. Remember?” He said sarcastically. I smiled a little.
“Thanks. Why are you still up?”
“I wanted to be the first one to wish you.” I chuckled. “I know it seems childish but-“
“Thanks, Aaron.” I said sincerely.
“Now that I’ve wished you, I’ll sleep and you do the same.” He said with a yawn.
“Best idea ever.” He laughed.
“Good night birthday girl.”
“Good night.”
I slept peacefully till I was woken brutally by my brother. He splashed water on my face. I woke up with a start and shrieked.
“Happy birthday.” He shouted.
I glared at him.
“I hate you.” I shouted.
“No, no sis. Not a nice way to greet your brother especially on your birthday.” He ruffled my hair and I hit his arm.
“I want to sleep. Please let me sleep,” I said and closed my eyes again but to no avail. He dragged me out of the
bed and led me downstairs where I was greeted by the chorus of happy birthday from my parents, Blacks and
Jamie. I was a complete mess. My hair was tangled and messed up. I was in pajama and blue top and on top of that I was barefoot and my eyes were puffy from sleep.
“You should have at least let me wash my face and brush.” I hissed at Kris who was still holding my hand.
“They love you anyway.”
I stomped at his feet and went to hug my parents, then Aaron’s parents and sisters, Jamie and at last Aaron. He gave me a tight squeeze and I hugged back tightly.
“Thanks everyone. I’ll go get freshen up.”
I went back to my room and took out white skirt and purple top from the closet and went into the bathroom to
take a nice relaxing shower. I braided my hair and went back to join the others downstairs. Everyone was still
there except Aaron’s dad. He had left for his work.
“Hey Kay. Come and join us.” Amy said who was sitting between Kris and Jamie on the couch.
“Before she joins you, we have something for you.” My dad said.
“What is it daddy?” I was beaming like a child with happiness.
“Come and see for yourself.”
We walked towards our garage. I walked behind my dad and he lifted the cover to reveal a brand new car.
“Audi.” I shouted and everyone laughed. I hugged my parents.
“Thank you so much. I love you both.”
“We love you too.” They said at the same time. My dad gave me the keys and everyone went inside except me. I
wanted some alone time with my car.
All my friends, Sam, Jen, Irelene, Chaz and Aiden, called and wished me and Jen and Irelene were coming over.
They had decided to get me ready for the party which was starting at 5 p.m. and finishing at 8:30 p.m., though I don’t know what was with the time limit, not that I’m complaining. The boys were to meet us directly at the
party.

“Happy birthday girl.” Irelene said entering my room and hugging me.
“Hey. Thanks.” I hugged her back and the same happened with Jen.
“So you got Audi?” Jen asked cheerfully.
“Yes babe and we are driving to the party in that only.”
“Now let’s get started and we’ll begin with your makeup.” Irelene suggested.
“Okay but not too much.” I warned them and they rolled their eyes.
They applied mascara, eyeliner, kohl and smoky eye shadow on my eyes. They applied blood red lipstick and
used very light, almost negligible, blush on my cheeks. They tied my hair in a low bun and turned me around to look in the mirror. I looked pretty.
“So?” Irelene asked.
“I look pretty.”
“You look extremely gorgeous babe.” She gushed. I chuckled.
“Thanks. We should get changed into the dresses now.”
They nodded and grabbed their dresses. They had already done their makeup and the only thing left to do was get changed into the party dresses. Jen came out first wearing black knee length dress and then Irelene went to change and came out wearing chocolate brown floor length dress.
I snapped their pictures and they sent it to their boyfriends.
“Now go get dressed.” Jen said.
I came out wearing floor length silverfish white gown with floral net on the hem and arms. It was deep necked so my tattoo was visible. It fitted me perfectly. I put on the pearl
earrings and we left towards my garage.
“Nice car.” Irelene and Jen said at the same time. I smiled in response.
“Now let’s get going.” Irelene said patting my black Audi.
I got into the driver’s seat with Jen in front and Irelene in the back and drove out of there and towards my lake house.
