No One I'd Rather be

The small, but strong rays of sunshine hit Lucy as she slept comfortably next to her friends. They all fell asleep pretty late, so it was pretty late. Slowly she sat up and yawned, hopping out of bed and smiling at her snoring comrades. Downstairs she could hear the usual loud ruckus, but it seemed more quieter than usual.

"Good morning Lucy! Did you sleep well?" Mira's sweet voice asked as she entered with a tray of four plates, one for each person. "Could you wake them up please?" Mira asked as she placed all the food down onto a small table. "Sure!" Lucy replied cheerfully, until she began to remember what happened the previous day.

All the cheeriness disappeared in an instant and Lucy started to shake, Mira was quick to notice and rushed to her side. "Lucy, calm down, you're okay. Take a deep breath for me" the terrified blonde did what she was asked and breathed in deeply and breathed out.

The others began to groggily get up while yawing and rubbing their eyes, Gray grabbed his glass of water and threw it on Natsu, instantly enraging him "what did you just throw on me ice prick!?" Natsu screamed and jumped on Gray to begin attacking him.

"That's enough!" Erza yelled and smacked her pillow onto them both "s-sorry, Erza" 
Erza turned and looked at Lucy who was hugging herself and shaking, Mira stood next to her rubbing her back in a comforting way. "Lucy?" Erza whispered and jumped off the bed.

Natsu and Gray turned and rushed towards their blonde friend, she let out a nervous giggle and rubbed her face "d-don't worry about me, I'm just still shocked and scared..." she replied while wiping away to upcoming tears. Quickly, she tried to lighten the mood "besides! Mira has cooked us some lovely breakfast, so lets eat!" She said while dragging them over the the large breakfast.

Breakfast consisted of pancakes, eggs, bacon and toast. 

Erza looked disappointed when there was no strawberry cake though. Mira noticed and headed downstairs to get one. Lucy moaned with a mouth full on pancakes at how good the food was. "this is amazing!" Natsu mumbled with a mouth full of... pretty much everything. Gray was making a bacon and egg sandwich and had a sparkle in his eyes while creating it. Erza had a satisfied smile on her face while she stuffed the food into her mouth.

In the back of Lucy's mind she was thinking about yesterday. Mira came back into the room with Erza's strawberry cake, Erza's eyes sparkled and she quickly began to dig into the cake. "If you need anything else, just come and ask" Mira smiled and exited the room. Lucy brought a glass of orange juice to her mouth and in her mind she remembered how he would torture her.

Lucy slammed her glass back onto the table with much force, scaring everyone and making them jump. "I-I have to go to the bathroom" so that's what she did, everyone stared at her with distraught looks and waited for her to come back. 

She made her way down the hallway and slammed open the door before locking it behind her. Lucy turned and stared at herself in the mirror. Fortunately, she wasn't suicidal, but from time to time she felt disgusted when she looked herself in the mirror. Instantly she cringed at herself.

"Look at you! You're disgusting! Pathetic!" She muttered darkly at her reflection "you'll never be considered beautiful. You're nothing!" Tears began to cloud her vision as she shook and hugged herself "disgrace! You're a disgrace!" She continued to taunt herself and believe in all the things Jackal would call her "bitch! Slut!" She was now yelling.

Her being so horrified and disgusted by herself she smashed the mirror using her fist. "You're nothing! You're not worth anything!" Lucy dropped to her knees and cradled herself while she cried endlessly.

"You're nothing..."

The broken girl sat there for what seemed like forever, before a familiar voice spoke up.

"Lucy? Can you please come out?" Makoravs voice asked from outside the door. Slowly Lucy stood up and unlocked the door and came face to face with Master. "Yes?" She asked with tears rolling down her face, she turned and saw all her friends staring at her with sad looks. 

"I know, I'm hideous..." She sobbed and hid behind the door from the others that looked at her from down the hall. "You're not hideous Lucy" Makorav spoke softly while gently prying the door open. "You're going through a tough time and you don't deserve to" he opened the door, revealing her sobbing and clutching herself "master, what if he's right? What if I'm pathetic and worth nothing?" 

Down the hallway she could hear Wendy's soft sobs, that only made her feel worse. "I remember you doing this after we first rescued you. Taunting yourself and calling yourself names" It was true, when she was along she'd lock herself in the bathroom and yell at herself. "Lucy, you're not any of those things. When I see you, I see a strong, beautiful wizard who is willing to risk her life for others" Lucy gasped softly at his words and slowly began to smiled.

Natsu walked up to her and gave her a small smile before hugging her tightly. Lucy stumbled back slightly when she saw Wendy and Carla hugging her from around her waist. Her sobs echoed throughout the guild as more and more members wrapped their protecting arms around her.

In her head she began to say positive things.

"I am strong"

"I am worthy"

"I am proud"

"I am beautiful"

"There is no one I'd want to be, than me"

Darkness surrounded him as his usual sick grin was formed on his face.

Nothing, but darkness had consumed him, taking away his sanity, driving him insane. 

Nothing has changed...

His sick obsession was stronger than ever before. 

He wanted what he believed was rightfully his.

And that's what he'll get.
