On My Way

Fairy Tail members were searching around and investigating the destruction of the village, people were huddled up outside the town that was crumbling to dust. Bodies were recovered from under the ruble, some found alive, others found deceased. Erza was helping Gray clear away rubble when Erza asked Gray a question "have others been found?" Gray nodded "yeah, but unfortunately-" Gray was cut off as a little girl tugged softly on Erza's navy blue skirt. "Excuse me, have you seen my older brother?" The small brunette asked politely while shaking due to the shock of her village being annihilated. Erza immediately felt upset at the sight of her small, bruised body. "We'll find him, I promise..." Erza promised as she bent down and cradled the girl into her arms.

"Have you found the scary monster?" Erza froze as soon as the girl mentioned a 'Monster' 
"I'm very sorry, but right now we haven't, could you tell me what the monster looks like?" Erza asked soothingly, hoping to get some answers from the girl "w-well, he was tall and had messy, dark blonde hair. His teeth were really sharp and scary, but the weirdest thing was... well... he looked like an animal, he had ears and a long tail" Gray stopped clearing away rubble and turned around sharply at the girls description of this 'monster.'

The realization hit the two mages as they slowly turned to look at each other "That's the guy..." Gray whispered, Erza nodded, slowly placing the girl back onto the ground in order to stand back up "Gray, I believe it's best if we head off outside to village to search." 
In agreement, Gray gave a single nod before heading off North. Erza turned back to the child with a smile "what is your name?" The child looked up and smiled softly "I'm Carissa" She said shyly.
"Well, Carissa, I promise you, we will help you and your village in every way we can, and I'll make sure we find your brother" They both smiled at each other one more time "Thank you."

Cheerful laughs echoed through the room from two young mages "it was so funny Lucy! Poor Happy was almost crushed, I know it sounds bad, but his reaction was too funny" Wendy giggled while Carla stubbornly crossed her arms "serves that Tom cat right! He shouldn't have come on that mission with us, he just got in the way and almost ended up squashed under a monsters foot!" Lucy had to hold a hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing too hard, in her mind she kept on imagining the scene "poor Happy, I should give him a fish later" Lucy laughed, Happy rushed into the room "hey! I heard everything, I can't believe how cruel you three are, I was almost crushed! I deserve some sympathy!" Happy yelled "I'm sorry Happy, I wont laugh again" Lucy said with open arms, allowing Happy to hug her. Right after that, Lucy began the erupt in laughter again "Lucy!" Happy yelled again.

"Okay, okay! Starting from now, I will not laugh" Lucy smirked while shaking Happy's small paw in agreement. "I got it Lucy!" Natsu yelled while running into the room, holding Lucy's novel "Ah! Thank you, Natsu!" Lucy squeaked in excitement, longing to continue writing. Natsu handed Lucy a pen that he found on her desk. 

Writing always helped Lucy relax and forget about the bad things in life. "So, Luce... What are you writing about?" Natsu began to peer over Lucy's shoulder "Natsu!" She snapped while her book closed "I've told you before that Levy will be the first to read and find out what it's about!" 

Natsu lifted his hands up in a 'I give up' type of way, Lucy quickly went back to writing. Every while she would pause and think about something else to write about. Wendy tugged softly on Natsu's clothes. 
"Natsu, can I talk to you?" She asked while looking at the door to the exit. Natsu smiled "okay!"
They both exited the room and head halfway downstairs. "When do you think everyone will arrive back?" She asked quietly. "Probably soon, I mean, they got Erza, that monster will catch him"
Wendy nodded, unsure of believing if Natsu was correct. Unfortunately, he was not.
Lucy poked her head out of the door and tried listening to whatever they were talking about 
"they'll get back soon, Wendy, don't be worried, okay?" Natsu said softly "o-okay"
"who'll get back soon?" Lucy called out.
Natsu and Wendy froze "uhh... Erza and Gray, they when on a quick job" Natsu quickly explained.
"I was just telling Wendy that they'll be back soon.
Natsu sighed, hoping that Lucy didn't get suspicious,  "well, okay" Lucy answered, slipping back into her room and closing the door.

The crimson blood stained his skin and clothes, his face held a corrupted smile of insanity. He stalked through the quiet, dark woods, the only source of light being his glowing golden eyes that shone softly in the darkness.

Slowly, he clenched his hands into tight fists, they began to twitch softly, even after the gruesome massacre of the village, he still wanted to bloody his hands. Surprisingly, his strength had grown quite a lot during the past year it was not worth comparing to the weaker strength he used to carry a year ago.

With his new found strength, he knew, very well, he would be able to take back what he believed what rightfully his.
