Now, everyone's eyes were settled on Hope, she hated being under anyone's gaze. As if she was weak, as if she was less than them, less of a person, less of a force sensitive person, less of a life form. She didn't look at them, she stared right into the darkness, her gaze hard and full of anger and hidden fear.
"Why do you run to the light?" He asked after a moment of silence, as if no one breathed and nothing moved.
A sudden shudder of darkness ran through Hope's veins, right this was from the dream, the vivid dream that... was preparing her for this, was it? Had it been a vision that showed her this was going to happen? But in a different way? Would the same questions be asked?
If she truly wanted to see, she would have to repeat everything that was said in her dream, but she wasn't sure if she could. Her throat had tightened considerably as she stared, her mouth in a straight line but her eyes betraying what she really felt, fear... the feeling of being alone. But there were people surrounding her, breathing the air she breathed, and yet the room felt empty. It felt completely empty.
Her voice shook as she forced the words past her teeth and lips, though it was quiet and she wasn't sure if he actually heard her, "W-why do you h-hide in the d-dar-rkness?" She sucked in a deep breath, closing her eyes as she realised she had to calm herself down before she broke out crying.
Why would she cry? Because the darkness was like a heavy weight, resting on her shoulders, on her hear clawing at her and tearing into her skin and trying to get to the precious light that she held so dear.
It wasn't getting to it, she wouldn't allow herself to give in, she was stronger than this, and she knew it. The voice knew it, she was not so easily conquered by promises that would help to benefit her and her power, that's all the dark side was, power hungry rejects.
"Careful girl, thinking like that won't get you far." He spoke after a second, as if he had heard her very thoughts, that made her heart drop down to her feet as her face paled considerable, but her face still kept the emotionless look and she didn't reply to him, she didn't want to reply to him for fear of having a weak voice once more.
"You remember the dream?" And that's when Hope was inclined to react to what was going on, her lips parting as she made a face of slight shock. She heard his voice in her head, he got into her mind with ease, with as little pain as possible. And he could see everything, she knew it. And he was telling her that he could see what she thought, all of it, which is why she tried to concentrate on something that wasn't important.
Though it was rather hard to do, "Get out." She gritted through clenched teeth as her hands slowly curled into fists and a cup near her started to shake under the weight if her anger, "That's right... fall into your hate." He whispered in her mind, watching from the shadows as the glass suddenly shattered into little pieces that flew across the table.
Then, Hope felt him retreat from her mind, and then she allowed her hand to relax, though her shoulders were still tense, her jaw was locked in one positioned as her eyes burned.
It was so silent, once more, nobody dared took a breath or move an inch for fear (perhaps) of upsetting the darker one.
"Hope. Come and sit next to me." It was a command, a command that wouldn't leave any room for argument or refusal, hell, honestly, she could've refused to get up and go closer to the darkness, but it wouldn't have been wise because someone else would just move her over beside him.
So, she sat there for a couple of seconds, as if trying to get her body under control to stand up and move over to the darkness, to sit closer to him so he'd have an easier time of trying to toy with her mind. Hell no, she did not want to go over to him. And she didn't want to be forced over there, she couldn't run either. They'd catch her and it would be worse. She would only have to endure this for the rest of the meal, how ever long that would be...
