Chapter 9: I Need Him

Adams POV:

How could Alex do that? She knows how much I care about her.. And how I made her promise she would stop smoking weed.. Because when she starts she can't stop and I hate seeing her go through that. It like takes over her and its all she starts to think about.. I just hope--

"Adam! Wait! Let me explain! Please!"

"No. I can't believe you!"

"Adam! I'm really, really sorry! He tried to have--" Alexis tried to choke the rest out but she couldn't. She started crying right then and there. Something bad must have really happened.

"Alexis, what happened?"

"He-- he tried to have sex with me.. "

"Wait, Zach?! Why did he do to you? Are you ok? Did he hurt you?"

"He tried to take my shirt off and he kept kissing m-me. No I'm not okay.. And he didn't really hurt me.. He just pushed me down and left.."

"Are you kidding me?! Oh my god! I'm sorry that I yelled at you!.. I'll be right back.."

"Wait! W-where are you going?"

"I'm going to have a little chat with Zach."

"No Adam, please.. I don't want anyone hurt."

"Alex, I know you don't like it when people fight, but I need to let Zach know that isn't okay."

"Be careful, okay?"

"I promise."

Ugh God, I was not gonna let that bastard get away with that. He will pay for what he did. I hate when people mess with Alex. She's my bestfriend and I have known her since 1st grade.. I don't know what I would do without her. Shes such an amazing person... I love her.. I think more than a friend.. Oh God.. I need to make up my mind.. Sauli or Alexis..

Alright, after about 10 minutes of driving I arrived at Zach's. I could tell he was home because his car was here.. Someone else is here too.. There's 2 cars.. The other car looks familiar but I cant put my finger on it..

I walked up to the door and started knocking. He answered the door and was shocked that I was there.

"Hey Adam.. What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to let you know, if you EVER try to pull something like that on Alexis again, I will hurt you."

"I know.. I'm sorry Adam.."

"What?? Seriously?"

"Yeah.. I wont talk to her again.."

"Alright good."

"Well I'll see ya later.."

"K.. Bye Zach."

That was way too easy.. You would think Zach would fight back.. Something is wrong.. Someone was there and Zach didn't want me to know...

Alexis POV:

Where is Adam?! He worries me when he gets mad.. Sometimes he can have a bad temper.. Oh there's the door! Hes back!

"Alexis? I talked to him.."

"What happened?"

"I told him to stay away from you.. That If he ever does that again to you, I'll hurt him."

"What did he say?"

"He said he won't and he's sorry."

"Oh wow.. I wouldn't have expected that."

"Yeah I wouldn't either.."

"Well he probably just wanted to be done with me.. Wanted to get me out of his life.. So he went along with what you were saying.." I started crying again.. God why can't I be less emotional?

"Hey come here." Adam said, opening his arms, welcoming me for a hug. "It'll be okay.. He's a jerk.. Don't worry about him.. He won't be back in your life.. It was for the best.."

"I know..."

"You'll be okay.. I wont ever leave you.. I'm here.."

"Thank you, Adam."

"Anytime.. Alexis, I love you"

"I love you too."

"Do you wanna say at my place tonight?"

"Yes please."

"Haha alright..Let's go.. Do you need to grab anything? Maybe some clothes? I noticed you didn't change since you left my house.."

"No that's okay..I like your clothes."

"Haha alright. Let's go."

We left my house and started driving towards Adams house. The radio didn't have any good songs, so I plugged my iPod into the stereo. I put on the song "Still Breathing", by Allison Iraheta. I love that song. It kinda of explains what I'm going through. I could tell Adam liked it too because he turned it up. After Allison's song I put "Want" on, by Adam. He turned at me and gave me a warm smile. Adams songs are so great.. They make me feel like I'm under a spell because they always lighten up my mood. It sometimes feels like I'm under the influence of 'ecstasy' .. "Life would be a party, it'd be ecstasy.." Hehehe Yes, I just did that. I can be very cheesy sometimes.. Haha.

We arrived at Adams and I was exhausted from the drama of today. I just wanted to go and sleep. I'm guessing Adam could tell, because when he got out of the car he came around and opened my door. He then picked me up, carrying me into his house. Adam took me upstairs to his room and laid me down on his bed.

"Alex, you need anything?"

"No.. I'm good. Thank you Adam.. For everything. You are such a great friend. I don't know what I would do without you. Your smile makes my day 100% better. Your hugs make me know I'm not alone. Your voice makes me feel safe. I am soooo glad you are in my life. Your my bestfriend in the whole world, let alone my only friend.. I love you."

I could see the tears in Adams eyes.. I can tell that meant a lot to him.

"I love you too. You mean so much more to me than a bestfriend."

I didn't know what to say.. I just sat there and smiled like an idiot.

"You need to get some rest. Go to sleep." Adam said, then kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight, Adam."

"Goodnight. Sweet Dreams."

Adam got in the bed and laid right next to me. I felt so safe next to him. If it weren't for Adam, I probably wouldn't be here.. He's my missing piece, my other half.. I need him...
