Chapter 8: Sexy Son of a Bitch

While we were eating our food, I pictured Paul standing on top of a stage. Others were standing around him, but he was in the center. I could see the tip of his black shoe tapping lightly on the floor, with the beat. His slightly hairy hand strummed the strings of the bass. The black hair on his head bounced around as he shook his head. I wondered what he sung about. Was it a song about life? Or was it about love? I thought about it. He would sing about loving a wonderful girl. That girl would Lilly, of course.

Or would it?

I smiled at the thoughts running through my head. Hopefully, I could see him in action. I kept my head down, silently eating the food from my plate. My ears heard Paul and Lilly whispering, giggling, and talking.

"Hey Holly." Lilly said to me after little bit. I peered upward from the plate and leaned back.

"Yes?" I asked, looking from Lilly to Paul.

"Would you like to come to the Cavern in tonight?" She asked me, waiting silently for an answer.

"Um," I thought about it for a little bit, "Ok, all right."

"I'm gonna be there." Paul smiled at me, with a mouth full of food. I giggle at him face and shrugged.

"So!" I said to him. I was excited to see him again, but I didn't want him to know that. His face was priceless. A face of surprise, a face I barely can explain. Well, whatever. Paul hardly took his hazel eyes off of me. Lilly didn't notice, but what if she did? If my boyfriend couldn't take his eyes of another girl, I would be pissed. I would want my boyfriends eyes on me.

But it tingled to feel him eyes on my skin. A nervous giggle left my lips. I guess I wanted more then just his eyes on me, oh shit I'm a creeper, but at the same time I feel like I didn't really have any feelings towards this boy.

Finally, we all finished and Paul paid for the bill. We all left the diner and once again I sat behind Lilly. Paul drove the car out into the street and down the road. Lilly kept her hand on Paul's thigh, maybe to say that Paul is her's. Which I should learn quickly. But something about this new Paul was so calling, but what about the past. The past still mattered. Whatever, fuck it.

I didn't realized he stopped at Lilly's place first. But Paul did. Lilly kissed Paul before leaving the car. She walked into a apartment building, happily swinging her arms back and forth. I moved to the front seat, walking out of the car and into the front. I pulled my legs up to my chest and held them tightly against my shirt.

"What are you doing?" Paul looked at me through the corner of his hazel eyes. I looked back at him, wondering what my answer should be.

"N-nothing." I stuttered slightly, his small gaze overpowering me. I sighed, "Will you stop?!" I nearly yelled at him across the car.

"Stop what?" He was playing dumb, Paul knew.

"You know, smart ass!" I lightly shoved his shoulder and he pretended to stare at the road. I could see him slightly smiling. It was super cute, but it pissed me off too.

Finally, Paul parked his car outside my apartment building. I opened the door and slid out quietly and quickly. My hand slammed the white car door shut and I rushed into the building. My legs pulled me up the steps, two at a time. When I reached my door, my fingers fumbled around in my bag for my key. I finally found the gold key shinning in the bottom of the bag. A sigh escaped my lips and I pulled the key out of the bag.
